not feeling good

not feeling good

At the moment i am not feeling good. i feel like my body is in 'run away mode'. i feel my body is running on a high, my head is so mixed up. i have to go to bed and try to sleep, but don't know if i can.

my hormones are everywhere at the moment; my mood is sky high negative. i can't deal with this anymre. all of a sudden i am not feeling good. i think it is anxiety.

i don't know why i feel like this; i just want to cry but can't becsue everyone is home. i am going to bed. i don't know what is going on. actually maybe it is anxiety because i felt like passing out today.

I went to my GP to have my mirena IUD taken out as I had had enough. But he couldn't find the string, so he sent me for a ultrasound. Had that and the guy said i had two fibroids and a cyst on my ovary. but he couldn't find the string either, so had to have an xray to find the metal piece. they didn't tell me anything. but while waiting i was so anxious i almost passed out.

so now i have to wait for tomorrow when my GP will call me at work and let me know what will happen now. hopefully he can take the mirena out. i don't know.

my body is reacting to my anxiety - i feel so shaky, i need to stop. no point telling anyone at home becasue (a) they won't believe me and (b) they prob wouldn't care.

sorry, i had to tell someone. i feel so alone 😞

Re: not feeling good

Of course you are going to miss your job and the people @BlueBay You have been there a long time and made those connections with people and that is hard to not have in your life anymore. It is lovely that people are appreciating you and the work you do there so take heart in the fact you have touched others lives in a positive way.

As for the job itself - there is nothing you can do about that - it is what it is and nothing will change that. You are of course grieving this loss but there also needs to come a time of acceptance and moving on ...that of course will be in your own time but dwelling on what you have had will not help you to move forward either. Please make sure you get a reference from the current employer ASAP - it may not be at the top of your list of priorities right now because of the way you feel about them but it is essential you get one that shows your experience and skills to help in further finding work. Asking now gives them plenty of time to write it before you officially leave ...it is much harder to organise once you have left especially if you still have anger and disappointment associated with the place - so as hard as that seems right now it is something you need to do for the future that you can do now.

Looking for work is never easy - not going to sugar-coat that - but the sooner you begin putting in applications the sooner you will find something. There will inevitably be disappointments along the way - that happens for everyone but that is life - it is more about your approach to finding work and your attitude. You may have to apply for work that is not completely what you want but just as our @MDT has done - getting your foot in the door may be just the beginning of newer and better opportunities. Apply for everything possible that you have at least some skills in - if nothing else it will strengthen your application and also maybe interview skills. It is hard to not get disappointed in rejections but that is the market unfortunately - too many people wanting even less jobs - so keep looking and keep applying.

Re: not feeling good

@BlueBay I think you need to be honest with the people as for the reasons as to why you are leaving. If I'm not mistaken it was due to the behaviour of some of the bosses wasn't it?

Your call on that my friend.

I might have my facts crooked though so take what I say with a grain of salt please.

@Zoe7 is right. It'll take time but just be patient. Maybe even enjoy the break from work for a small bit perhaps

Re: not feeling good

Hi @BlueBay

It's never easy working out notice esp when the employers have retrenched you - I have done that myself a long time in the past and it does pass

It's important not to let your fear take over - you are young yet - being 50 is not over the hill - and you have experience and gained life-knowledge which younger people do not have - don't let your fear seize-up and take over

It can be exciting looking for work - and you have choices - I remember once telling a possible employer I was not interested in working there once I saw their office - you might be surprised at how enlightening looking can be for you

The thing is not to give up your hope - it's time to sell yourself now - how you have been loyal to your previous employers and remember - they didn't render you unemployed - the new owners did - so yes - make sure you have that reference before you leave

You have already had your hair done - and with your payout buy a couple of new dresses or other work-appropiate outfits - that would be a sound investment - and list your skills and freedom to work unusual hours - fill it etc - as you have been - so a part time job can be better than a few hours -

I don't know but if I was looking for work my age wouldn't bother me -

And you have computer skills and admin experience - when you get over you disappointment about the situation you might be really excited

About the tourists - maybe this is not the best time of year to put your house on the market if the tourists present a clear and obvious influence - I'm not in love with people who crowd out beaches or other areas myself and travel off-season - I live in what used to be a resort suburb - at weekends the shopping area there is over-run with noisy crowds and the carparks are full - and my street has cars parked up both sides of the road for people who park here to catch the bus to the beach - annoying for people driving up and down the street. And almost naked young people flock into the shops and it is pretty unpleasant so I certainly understand what you are saying.

I moved out of the main streets when I moved up here - still in the same suburb - at night young men would walk out in the street yelling until all hours so yes - you must feel over-taken - but it's just for a few weeks a year and it might be easier to live somewhere else

But I would love to live - actually did love living near the beach but it has disadvantages

Don't lose heart BlueBay - it's a time of change that you were aware was coming and not here you are but you will be okay -

Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement @outlander @Owlunar @MDT @Zoe7 @Former-Member

now I'm telling the customers the more are getting upset that I'm leaving and want to put a complaint in.
they're all shocked. @MDT @New owners taking over in 2 weeks. My job made redundant. He got rid of 4 staff members.

My area supervisor who told me that I had no job days he will def be a referee in my resume. And if I need a written one he will do one.

I kniw it's not going to be easy @Zoe7 the wirk industry has changed from years ago. It's very competitive and most of the time it's who you know. So I'm putting it out there with my friends.
even the customers have their ears open for jobs fir me. That's so nice.

I know the rest of this week and especially next week will be hard emotionally.

Re: not feeling good

Huge huge meltdown just before at my doctors room. I let out all my tears fears and emotions. I told him that this morning in my terrible emotional moment I was very close to harming myself badly.
He was concerned and sat and listened. He told me I will get a job and I will be ok. he said I need to stop been so hard on myself.
I can't see it. I was in there for 20 mins and was uncontrollable. I struggled very hard to calm myself down. He said my anxiety is extremely high and it would be good if it could come down a notch. He knows how difficult things are at the moment.
