“I don’t need people” state of mind

“I don’t need people” state of mind

Lately I’ve found myself withdrawing more and more into myself. I’m not sure if this is a trauma response or maybe I am burnt out because things were rough for so long. The recent Uni assignments plus mixed episode (funny how the brain can experience depressive and hypo manic symptoms all at once) has left me emotionally exhausted and lousy. Like I am in a better place now, I no longer feel like ending myself, or look for ways how I could do it. I feel a lack of motivation to socialise, even come on these forums or call helplines when I start feeling anxious. Like I rather just depend on myself, because we live alone, deal with things alone and leave this world alone. I just don’t feel bothered either, I rather just do things to distract myself. Maybe I’m feeling the anxiety more because I didn’t sleep well, you gotta thank the earth for that good shake last night

Hi @creative_writer

I mentioned church to you and it did not bother you.

You mention muslim connection and not bothered

I am careful with church or bible as many judge it.

That is fine. I see their view.

I am glad you picked up Crazy is subjective. When you said you have crazy ideas about writing etc, I think they are just ideas. Some will believe you they are crazy ideas. Remember. That is subjective. Let others decide.

I keep saying, keep some topics to yourself. Words or writing cannotbbe withdrawn

I say Microsoft Outlook had it right. They have a Draft folder. Under pressure l would park my message there. Read it an hour later. Is it still appropraite? Many spurt it out and regret it

@Former-Member, Moderators tend to flag your post if they think it might have triggering content in it and will ask you to adjust it. I haven’t had it happen for a long time, it used to happen when I was more new to the forums. It can be sort of disheartening because you know you’ve breached the guidelines, but the guidelines are there to protect us.

I have still found the forums a safe place to talk through various emotions. Some of those moments were my vulnerable ones. I may seem okay right now, but even a couple of weeks back I was a mess

Hi @creative_writer

The forum has given me a good social outlet too.

It seems you are on the way up.

Great direction.

Keep it up!

@Former-Member, the forums is a good place to talk to other like minded people. I’ve thought about joining in person support groups but they frighten me so much, I would barely talk. I think I rather just stick to just SANE forums and my peer support worker through SANE guided service

@creative_writer

Sounds like a good plan for you.

You will know when or if you are ready for a group setting.

Your ideas are not crazy. They are wise. They protect your feelings.

Being corrected by moderators sounds like was benefitial. You seem like you are willing to learn.

I agree with the thoughts you have expressed and sit by you seeing the progress. Excellent!

Catch you soon.

@Former-Member, I had a psychiatrist suggest day programs, but they make me uneasy right now, maybe one day. I would have to increase my private health insurance cover too.

I hope today has been a good day for you 🙂

This evening, I feel a sense of grief washing over me. It’s more of an aching pain rather than deep agony

Re: “I don’t need people” state of mind

Hi @creative_writer

What is a day plan?

Why extra funding?

Sorry to hear you are grievjng today.

We had such a good chat yesterday.

Did something happen today to trigger it?

Please only disclose what you want.

I do not want you regretting what you write.

Just a little bit is fine if you are comfortable

Re: “I don’t need people” state of mind

@Former-Member, outpatient group based programs are available for a range of mental health conditions. They tend to fall under private and therefore fees do apply.

I enjoyed our chat too yesterday. It’s always good to be able to talk to like minded people, it’s so hard to find my own tribe.

Cptsd is rearing its ugly head this evening. I am grieving everything that was taken away from me because of trauma. Not sure what triggered it, I guess it’s just been a long term thing. It’s annoying when your brain wakes up to remembering and your brain remembers before you go to bed every single day

Re: “I don’t need people” state of mind

Hi @creative_writer

Thanks for explaining the group and explaining.

Ptsd.

I try and refrain from thinking what was taken from me over 10 years.

It is so hard letting the past go. But what value does it have other than the surviving methods we learnt on the way.

As orphan Annie from Annie says "yesterday was plain awful, but that's not now, that's then"

What i say needs a lot of mindfulness. Many will bring up the past when l do not want to.

Do you have the energy to focus more on tomorrow?

Many cannot. Some can. I mentioned l help mow lawns and look after house in country. For me i fully focus on that. I do what l can. I enjoy the achievement.

What can you do that you enjoy and is completed quickly?

Jigsaw, puzzle,

I choose achievable goals.

Writing a book takes too long and may be frustrating.

I like to think of short things.

Even a coffee down the street and see what others do.

Any ideas?
