New puppy new life new Thread.

New puppy new life new Thread.

Both Cookie and I had a big day today. Me getting the house, supplies, space ready and really very anxious about new responsibilities of being a puppy mum. Cookie with travel strange place and being left here by her family.

We had cuddles for a while till she was less anxious her heart was racing. Then I encouraged her to explore a bit with some treats. She is now having a doze in her crate next to me and all seems right with the world. I think I could nearly doze too.

The constant hyper alert status my body has been in seems to have mellowed. I didn't know how bad it had gotten till it went.

I'm sure things will keep going up and down but I haven't felt calm in a very long time.

Im getting by. sister got home from hospital today so pretty happy with that. Got meeting with pain specialist about my back tomorrow, bit nervous. Got some new support services starting today. Going to try and get a psychitarist through a different company, going to get doc to do a new referral to them and see if I can get in urgently.

Dogs are very happy to see sister home

Re: New puppy new life new Thread.

I wasn't consistent with Cookies crate training yesterday so she was upset last night. It's my fault but she was whining a lot last night. Wanted to be with me instead of her pen. I let her out when she stopped tried a toilet break and cuddles and put her back in. I stayed in the room till she settled but she was upset for a while.

Her proper crate has arrived so I'll put it up today and take down her pen.she is quite happy in the crate if I'm in the same room so I'll set the new crate up in my room tonight and start again.

She's having fun at the moment exploring the house and the front patio running around. Checking out her snuffle mat for leftover breakfast. She brings joy and my world.

Responsibilities too, but that's good for me. Beautiful day today.

Work day today assignment is calling.

God bless Cookie. 🍪

Re: New puppy new life new Thread.

I'm working hard at getting on with life, caring for my puppy, and trying to care better for myself cooking proper meals. Poor cookie had an upset tummy yesterday but it seems to have been better today.

My neighbor has been tough to deal with but she has been quiet today. She was still out near the fence tonight, I feel monitored just taking my dog to an empty park but she didn't say anything to me.

Her dog gave her away by barking lol and she got cross at her so I could hear where she was in the yard. She is making herself unhappy and bitter and as long as she doesn't say anything nasty to me I guess I'll have to live with it for now.

It sounds like my scooter will be happening soon so we will be able to travel further afield then. And I'll hopefully be able to move soon. I'm worried about the long-term damage people like my neighbor will have.

Thanks for the update @Gillie1 ! Pups do have delicate tummies to begin with... but I'm sure once they are over this 'sensitive' stage, they will be eating the house out!

@tyme She's such a gentle soul. Very smart Very funny to watch playing. It is important that I'm able to care for her properly. That includes getting out and about and not letting fear rule my behavior. Positive reinforcement and routine, Stability and focus. Doing the best I can each day to make her life a good one because she's saving mine.

@tyme @Kyle1 @ClockFace @Appleblossom .

Yesterday and this morning made me realize something. Having a puppy isn't just about caring for a puppy who is a blessing in my life. It's also about having fun, sharing adventures, and the good things in life. Between stressful times and a puppy with an upset tummy, I was getting down again but. Having fun with puppy, taking her for a slow walk to explore the world around us, introducing her to friends and even giving her her first shower today I am starting to see the world through her eyes. And life can be a fun adventure if you let it.

Good on you @Gillie1 . You can't have the ups if you are not willing to take the downs.... that's what I learnt during my MH journey.
