Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 Now your mum and dad both know.

Might this be a good thing?

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 me neither...

I know the feeling.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yes and no @Kyle1

I found it extremely difficult to just tell them I have depression, let alone this as well.

I said to my dad I am fine so that's what he can think. That would be a lot of stuff to take in. In one day.

Also I am definitely not fine.

Re: Tw Not Coping

I get that.

That used to be my default response, too. "I'm fine". And one day I couldn't hold back any more, and I let myself say "no. I'm not good"...

It was on that day that I began to get a lot of help.

Unfortunately for me, it petered out and didn't fix my shit, but for that month I stayed afloat... thanks to the knowledge and support of others who I would otherwise hold back the truth...

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 Good choice. Just sit on it awhile. Wait until you're ready...

Just know there is no shame in going through what you are. I know it's easier said than done...

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8, I can understand why you feel anxious. Once, when I was in Australia by myself, the GP at the time told me I had to go to ED then called my dad who wasn’t in Melbourne at the time. I only really found out the GP told my dad after he called the hospital. It can be daunting, but parents generally have the best interest at heart, even if they don’t understand.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Oh okay @creative_writer. Why did your dad have to find out were you not an adult at the time?

It just makes it so hard when they don't understand mental health, though @Kyle1 @creative_writer @Bow.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8, I was. I’m not entirely sure why the GP had to tell my dad. That GP wasn’t particularly nice to me during the appointment. At first she didn’t believe I was suicidal and thought I was “playing games”.
