Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

You don't necessarily get committed if you go to ED @Birdofparadise8 . It's only if you are deemed not safe. However, if you have parents at home and they can oversee your safety, then they do go for that option. Inpatient units can be quite traumatic.

Going to ED can connect you with services in the community. That is helpful. e.g. the HOPE team.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Ah okay well I’m more thinking for when I am at uni and if things go downhill. The counselor at KHL I talk to said I should go to ED if my suicidal thoughts get to an 8 or 9 out of 10 especially at uni where it might be hard to stay safe because my family isn’t around.

Just means people around me would find out which I wouldn’t like @tyme

@Birdofparadise8 yes. I haven’t actually ever been admitted to a psych ward though. So can’t comment.

Ah okay well that’s a good thing then @creative_writer I am just unsure how it all works I think the hardest thing is the unknown of what could happen. I think if my thoughts get to the point they did around Christmas I would need to seriously think about going, but like what can they even really do if they just discharge the same day. Anyway I obviously don’t want to go or anything I am just trying to be informed for myself.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8once I left a few hours later after they upped my dose of one of my meds. AD put me in a mixed episode, and my pdoc at the time didn’t care if I existed. I mean it’s not like she showed interest, texting during appointments is not professional behaviour. I called her to let her know what was going on, it was public holiday. I got the call back but was in the car at the time, and just asked if she could wait a min. She said no really rudely, and said she’ll call back but never did. So I basically ended up in ER because I was insignificant.

Re: Tw Not Coping

I'd be happy to step you through the process @Birdofparadise8 . It's good to see you thinking ahead 'in case' you go down that route. However, please do not over think it.

Things will happen when they happen. Bottom line - there IS support out there, esp in Melb.

Re: Tw Not Coping

So sorry to hear this happened @creative_writer and it made you feel 'insignificant'. So wrong.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yeah okay thank you @tyme

I am just unsure of the process of what would happen if I go to the ED.
