Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Totally fine @Birdofparadise8 🌺🙂

I really do understand 🤗

Nothing to be concerned about right now, and I’m still so pleased and proud of you for doing so well today ☺️🌺

Re: Not Coping

Yeah, but not now @Former-Member

I'm having intense anxiety that you'll leave even though you have said you won't.

I feel so bad because it's not your fault. It's just how I'm wired, and I hate it.

I don't know why I even asked you, knowing how I would respond.

I'm really so sorry. I feel so so bad 😭😩.

I hate myself now. I hate being like this.

I've just wrecked the night.

Re: Not Coping

Aw, I’m sorry @Birdofparadise8 💜

Hey, if that anxiety was a mirage in the desert, I would walk right up to it till it disappears 🙂🌺

what I mean by saying that is, sometimes our stress and worry can be based on real things and sometimes they come from fears that have no evidence.
Keep challenging those fears and worries that don’t have a foundation in evidence, ok? 🌺🙂

we are peers here on the forum - I enjoy chatting with you, and I definitely don’t want to take that away from either of us 🙂

I also want to gently let you know that you have nothing to be sorry for from my perspective - I understand what’s happened, and I don’t blame you at all 💜

Be gentle with yourself, is all I’d like to ask right now Birdofparadise8, because being hard on yourself takes energy away from being able to focus on planting the seeds of change in coping mechanisms and methods 🌺🙂

And please know that from my perspective the night isn’t wrecked - I still see you the same way I did earlier 🙂

Re: Not Coping

Oh, okay, thank you @Former-Member

What is a mirage in the desert?

I'm crying now. I don't think it's a bad thing, though. I'm just pleased you're not upset with me.

How do I fix that? Being hard on yourself takes energy away from being able to focus on planting the seeds of change in coping mechanisms and methods 🌺🙂

Truly, I'm so thankful that you're here.

I still don't know why I mentioned it in the first place.

Re: Not Coping

Do you know anything on (C-PTSD)

@Former-Member

Scoring and Interpretation

Emotions Score: 4 / 5

Your attachment trauma has affected your ability to manage your emotions quite a bit.

Self-image Score: 5 / 5

Your attachment trauma has extremely affected your internal self-image.

Relationships Score: 2 / 5

Your attachment trauma has affected your capacity for healthy relationships a little bit.

Complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) is a mental health diagnosis caused by repeated and prolonged exposure to trauma, especially in early childhood. Some examples of complex traumas include physical and psychological abuse, witnessing domestic violence, and emotional neglect.

Research has shown that three distinct areas of life are affected by C-PTSD and can cause the following issues:

  • Emotional dysregulation: C-PTSD can cause people to lose control over their emotions. They may experience intense and persistent anger or sadness or find it difficult to re-regulate after being triggered.
  • Negative self-image: C-PTSD can cause feelings of helplessness, guilt, shame, and self-loathing. It may also lead sufferers to consider themselves different from other people which can cause a variety of relational issues with themselves and others.
  • Relationship issues: Some may avoid relationships due to mistrust or feelings of inadequacy. Some might subconsciously seek abusive partners and remain in toxic relationships because this feels familiar to them.

Re: Not Coping

No worries @Birdofparadise8 🙂

here’s a mirage explanation for you, with a picture, showing the appearance of something that is just an illusion of light rays reflecting (in this case, giving the appearance of water over a road when there’s actually no water there) mirage

I hope you can feel better after letting out a few tears, and I’m glad you know I’m not at all upset with you 🌺🙂

it’s not easy to change the way we think, that’s for sure. I spent some years shifting my thoughts - however, there’s no time like the present to start giving it a try 🙂… I think this also might be a good topic to pop onto your list of things go chat with your psych about.. what do you think?

I can understand why you’d ask - it’s a logical progression, knowing I’m part of a program that has a finite timeframe, and being curious about what happens next 🌺🙂

hopefully you feel confident that we have worked out the next step? (I’ll be aiming to stay🌺🙂).

you’re still courageous in trying to change things and get better @Birdofparadise8 , it’s not easy, but I can see you’re doing your very best, and that’s what matters 🙌🏻🙂🌺

Re: Not Coping

Right okay @Former-Member

Yeah I'm alright now.

Oh gosh, my list. I forgot to keep track of that. I thought I wrote it down, but that was from my previous session.

Did I ask about what I should talk about this week at all?

Yes, I'm pleased to know that you would like to stay.

When you say challenge these, is that referring to me still asking or something?
