Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

There is a balance needed @creative_writer but again, it has to be when we are ready. Reaching out for support is in itself taking care of ourselves - knowing when we cannot do it on our own and asking for help is looking after ourselves and shows great strength. There does become an issue of over reliance when we do that all the time and do not have things in place to help ourselves as well. That also depends on what we need at the time and how much something affects us, for example - for one person burning toast may be just a small bump in the road but for another it may be an accumulation of things and the burning of toast a final straw ...it is all relative and very dependant on our current circumstances and state of mind.

@Birdofparadise8 aww, I certainly hope it doesn’t get worse for you hon. Here if you want to talk. I thought I was getting better but my brain and body did a backflip.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Zoe7 it’s true you need to be ready. Sometimes I become critical of my healing journey, I’ll tell myself I should be healed by now and if I’m not healing enough it means I’m lazy and unworthy. I don’t expect people to be there to offer me the support I need at times because I never had that. My needs are never fulfilled but I just tell myself I should just get on with it like I always have and be satisfied with it all.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yeah really @creative_writer

Thank you though things just really suck, but I’m still going to got for a walk or run I haven’t decided yet so I will decide when I get there. I just don’t understand why my mood is so up and down it’s probably been pretty flat since this 12 ish today.

@Birdofparadise8 I hope you enjoy your walk or run. Mood can be strange. I feel like ever since my physical symptoms got worse, my mood got worse too.

Re: Tw Not Coping

There is no timeline on recovery @creative_writer and for most if us it is a long term, ongoing process. Allow yourself to feel what you need and not put any pressure (or timeline) on it Hon. I believe that sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves to do better and be better and that just sends us backwards as we feel we can never live up to our own expectations. You are definitely not lazy or unworthy - quite the opposite - you are strong and matter. I do understand that feeling of never having that support or care, and also feeling like we do not deserve it, but you very much do. It takes us a long time to change that mindset, to reach out and to accept that support - but you are doing that and that is the first step to moving forward ...so give yourself the credit you so very much deserve.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Zoe7 I think sometimes we internalise what we have been told or how we have been treated in the past. I’ve also become so cautious with who I open up to and my experiences haven’t been all good with even health and mental health professionals. I do know there are lovely people out there too. I do hear you, there is no timeline on recovery and things do take time. I just hope with time, I can get bipolar, cptsd and social anxiety under control.
