Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Sounds interesting. I wondered how you could keep posting while working, but I guess sometimes you can multitask on a computer. I do.

I am old enuff and crook enuff not to work fulltime, plus family responsibilities. So only an hour per week online atm. Covid ran down my other business...open to enjoying self more than working tbh atm. Put in a lot over the years.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 I am okay, just was very suicidal. But I had to make adjustments to my room so I am safe. My friend thinks calling the triage again might be a good idea, but honestly, I’m dreading it. Can’t talk to them about everything, I can talk about my mood instability and say I’ve experienced trauma in the past, but too scared to tell them what kind of trauma.

@Appleblossom do you work? I haven’t worked for a while. I know many people can balance work and study, but don’t think it’s for me.

@creative_writer

I have worked and studied together a lot in the past, but these days I am taking things slowly. Part-time is fine.

Suicidal thoughts are so hard. Glad your room is a bit better.

Oh I’m sorry do you have a safety plan in place I find the one I made with my aunt for tomorrow helpful @creative_writer

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Appleblossom I wasn’t even able to study full time this year and had to drop volunteer work. I guess it depends on where you are at. I am hoping to do full time study next year. I also wish paid placements were the norm for our course. Yeah, suicidal thoughts are hard, had to take it slowly this year.

@Birdofparadise8 I have a safety plan but I wish I had someone to talk to. At least I have a counsellor appointment on Wednesday and a doc appointment on Tuesday, though I don’t know if I’ll talk about my mental health, don’t know this GP too well, but it would be good to stomach pain checked out. A few days seems like a lot to get through.

Thats right. DO what you can manage. @creative_writer It does not help to be judgy of self or other. Times are different now.

Burying thoughts and feelings and hanging out to next session is not easy.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Appleblossom how does one hang on until the next appointment? I guess holiday period is hard, supports tend to be away.

Re: Tw Not Coping

I had weekly appointments for only about 6 months @creative_writer mostly monthly or less. Somehow I would remember I had appointment and do another deep dive to keep going til then. I cannot say there was a lot of substance in the sessions but the actual fact of them and my commitment is what kept me alive. It was delayed gratification big time. Breathing, go for a walk, a run, read a book, just keeping on keeping on. Thinking things through, wondering how things can be better without too much hype so that it feels alien to the way you might be feeling now.

Setting your own goals/dreams/directions whatever you prefer to call them. When I am hyper agitated I can get triggered by anything so words can matter. Find ones that work for you. I would get annoyed. "I dont want a week on a tropical island" when someone was imposing there own dreams on me.

Hey @Birdofparadise8 My beautiful daughter is called Laura.
