Not Coping

I cant fault my MH team. @Birdofparadise8. Because my nurse has been away she got someone else to look after me. My fill in nurse emailed me Merry Christmas and she emailed on Wednesday to see how the withdrawals were going. She has the Christmas break off! Plus she organised for a different nurse to ring me. But I was at work.

So did you just contact the MH triage team to get a nurse because that would be really helpful to have that support.

I was just wondering how often do you contact the nurse if it wasn’t Christmas and new year period.

Yeah I hope something happens about it because I just couldn’t believe the lady didn’t even do a risk assessment or anything just told me to keep eating and sleeping well and I’ll be fine I’m not mentally sick enough to get help basically. Which is a load of rubbish when I have a plan.

My GP contacted the team at the hospital. Then they rang me to go in and she then. I didn’t like my nurse, it felt really clinical and cold. But the next visit was much better and I’m glad I got her. If it wasn’t for her and my GP I wouldn’t be here.

I have constant contact with my nurse. I speak to her on the phone at least once a week. See her either weekly or fortnightly depending on my roster and how I am. Sometimes it can be twice in a week. But I email her regularly, maybe every second or third day. My therapist said that it’s unusual to have that support.

I really don’t know why. My therapist is not contactable until appointment time. When she said that was unusual I backed away from my nurse and then she was concerned. I told her what the therapist said but my nurse wants me to keep in contact that much. tyme thinks I’m lucky to have such a great team too. Maybe it’s different in a small country town. I don’t know

Yeah you seem really lucky with the support your getting. I might even call the triage team again and see if I get someone nicer @Captain24

It sounds like I am lucky, but really, it’s all I know. I fell straight into a good team.
