Something’s not right

sick of myself

sick of myself

ive been MIA lately. just so ashamed of myself for getting so low again. for being so useless to everyone around me. i'm so confused and lost in my life. ive been on this merry go round for 3 years since seperating frm my ex of court and appeals and family court mud slinging matches. it doesnt end and im suddenly so angry with it all and ive never really felt anger before and im terrified of it. people tell me that i need to hold on and that all that external stuff 'will end'... its been 3 years.. and at least family court wise we havent even started that properly yet. i cant envisage coping through another 3 years of this and being told that it 'will end' is just agh! im so confused with this anger that is just bubbling under the surface at the moment. i dont know what to do with it and when i start to 'get angry' i immediately start to remember horrific things where others were angry and shut off into some bad space with the movies running over and over in my head. i feel like i go from almost about to explode in anger to this pathetic terrified whimpering child. i'm scared all the time that its going to happen again. my physical health is on the rocks though mostly the drs just say im run down and my mental health is not helping and could be contributing etc. which is all true but doesnt really lead to anything getting better. and sleep is non existant. my pyschiatrist wanted me to use meds and i told him i'd tried them and they dont work and he laughed as though i was lying (not unkindly.. hes actually quite nice) and i wont take the other stuff he seems to love... but makes me feel so much worse during the day. it kind of doesnt help that its holidays i think because i lose the... routine that work forces me to stick to. and my kids are with their dad for the longest time yet and not speaking to them for so long is just awful.

i was getting by before by focussing on the next important thing that i had to do, whether it was get dressed, make lunches, get in the car, plan lesson, talk to... etc i just had everything down to this focus on one thing next. but i havent been able to keep up with any more than that andnow theres so much more piling in that is overwhelming me completely. house is a disaster area, but probably cluttered densely enougn now that we'd survive a nuclear attack (see i can sstill see a silver lining). my blood pressure problems and dizziness may mean i cant drive if it keeps happening. we wont cope with that. my brain looks at stuff and just doesnt compute it. i cant concentrate or make myself do that things that i know need doing. i started the dishes an hour ago but got as far as filling the sink and washing one plate before i just got distracted and ended up back in my chair. im just so utterly usefless at the moment and theres just nothing of me left.

Re: sick of myself

Thank you @Former-Member. I do feel better. And it's come at just the right time - as my old friend isn't coming up this weekend after all. Might be another 5 weeks. So please - if I go off again - remind me of this post.
How are you feeling? Did they change any meds while you were in hospital? It can be hard when you come home after a hospital stay. So how are you coping tonight?

Re: sick of myself

@Former-Member This is where I think you are amazing because with all that must be going though your head and all your fears running rampant and th fear of abandonment you get up each day and be the best mum you can. I find that inspirational. The psychiatrist in hospital today said I need to toughen up a bit which is true. I honestly couldn't imagine holding it together with all the things you have to juggle. I never say this lightly. I guess the only thing I can say it that this will be over at some point soon (court stuff) and I hope you can then get to work on you and breathe a bit easier. But I totally get that everything would feel amplified at the moment and it would get hard to see the forest for the trees. Just keep holding on @Former-Member. It will get better 💜🤗💐

Me. I'm feeling a bit meh. I'm ok, way better than the beginning of the week when I was out of control. I guess I've come to realise during this stay in hospital all the work I need to do. I can't keep going like I have been, something has to change. The good news is that they have given me some sleep medication this time. I'm finally trusted to have a script again. I think this will help for the times I go awol, to get a good nights sleep will make a difference. I learned lots of valuable lessons in hospital which have left me feeling quite subdued.

Re: sick of myself

thanks @Former-Member i hope there is a resolution to all this crud someday in the future.. so the i can feel like we have a future. as you say.. right now it's jsut about holding on...

spent the morning at the beach with the kids and dusty. had a scary moment when another dog ran up and got aggressive with my dusty (he was on a leash)... got rid of the other dog and it ran and attacked a small white dog that was also on alead. the lady was just screaming but i couldnt do anything. i think the lil white dog was ok. hopefully the other dog will be locked up properly. but the rest of the time was ok. home and so tired now, but have started working in the garden and cleaned the kitchen. so feeling sort of productive. maybe its just procrastinating from all the school work i should be doing though lol!

I'm glad you are a bit better than the end of the week and that you have medication to help with the sleep. I think sleep is my biggest factor in how i am able to cope day to day. im sure if there were a button that i could press and sleep for 6/8 hrs a night i would be much better off. Glad that you learnt some things in hospital.. though at times that can feel like a double edged sword for me... all these things that i'm meant to be able to do, should be doing, but somehow feel like i fall short a lot of the time. however i guess having that growth mindset where we just keep going, have a nother go, move on and try again all the time is the most important feature we need to have to keep moving forwards.

big hugs if you want them,

lj

Hi @Former-Member

Hearing you about the court being crap re MI.

Love that you are getting out and being physical with the kids.

I am just surviving. It seems we are all doing it tough at the moment. Though glad @utopia had her insight .. about not taking too much on her own shoulders.

Waving .. not drowning ...

Re: sick of myself

@Appleblossom @Former-Member. My best friend is currently texting me - with guilt trips - because I said that I can't look after her daughter for a few hours or overnight.
It absolutely pees me off - sorry - only way I can say it - when people just don't be honest with what they are going through.
No I can't manage a 5 year old today. I'm trying not to drink. I'm sad my old friend didn't come up this weekend. But I'm doing ok.
I'm honest and said I can't do anything else today. Don't give me your bull dust. Tell me really what's going on - & we can talk. But that is all I am capable of today.
Aaarrrggghhh!!!

Re: sick of myself

😞 sounds frustrating @utopia

I'm glad you're sticking to your guns though and not giving in. You are looking after you today, which is enough! I guess your friend is probably just in her own head and not thinking outside of her own needs right now (not necessarily purposefully!))

Well done on not drinking, what are you doing to look afterself today/distract yourself?

hugs,

lj

Re: sick of myself

@Former-Member @BlueBay. I just slept for 3 & 1/2 hours. Pure exhaustion. The argument with my bestie escalated when I said not to call (text) me when you're drunk. It's not fair to me.
Anyway. She's angry - so I'm not replying to her texts now. I'll go and see her tomorrow morning. And see what the real issue was.
Thanks guys. Just needed to put it out there.

Re: sick of myself

Hi @utopia I'm glad to hear you slept ! Oh dear about your friend, I hope that she's ok tomorrow... Sounds like a complicated friendship.
I did so much today and even did an extra work out this evening and still can't sleep! Went to bed a bit earlier than usual but no giving up and will have a cup of tea. I'm so tired but there are these old memories playing over again. Tried grounding and listening to background noise but nothing helping. Too much stirred up again this week I guess.
