Hi @EternalFlower is it still raining where you live? It is here.
Thanks for your understanding with lots of turmoil going on for me at home. It's all still 'yucky'. I am ok. The police coming over was very awkward. Things here are more intense than usual - each day comes with its own outcome/solution that I can feel at peace with. It's always unexpected how it turns out. I have support with my hm mum. She has been thru all of this before. I.e trying to get him help & figure out best solutions. She is getting elderly now & I try not to burden her.
The whole Mental health scope can be overwhelming & so complex.
Eg. Symptoms, professionals, funding, transient states, depth of issues. It's huge & confusing.
For the 'normal lay' person it is impossible to relate.
I'm glad I have his mum in my life because I know that she 'gets it' when words can't adequately express all tiny details & experiences.
My own family is entirely ignorant to mental health. They would not understand at all what a normal day looks like for me & my friend. i know they find it really hard to relate with me. But thats also nothing to do with my current life!
Of course, interacting with members on SANE, & you is easy (er) because we all kind of share that experience, even if they are not the same. I feel like lots of discussions on here talk about mental health with respect, & that's not something the general community always does, or understands how to do.
I really liked how you shared your psych suggestion of carrying two special objects with you all the time. (It's really generous & I feel like I'm getting free psych advice thru you😄 thx). I do have special jewellery that I never remove - I think your suggestion is also about creating intention. Is that right? Do you think the intention is to remind me I'm safe?
Maybe I will choose a scent?
Have you heard of caterpillar necklaces? I'm imagining they would be a fun fidget. I think i could buy steel beads off ebay & make my own for 1/2 the price. I read that they are a fave for kids with autism. The steel beads have smooth sensory feel. i cant imagine how parents would afford things. we have a special needs primary school nearby. maybe one day i will make a few and donate!
I read you are watching unsolved mysteries. I used to watch a show Disappeared. I liked using my best intuition powers to find out what happened, or I would study the story on Reddit. Those documentaries can be really interesting. Very sad. In a way- we are honouring the person. That's what I thought anyway.
I still think you sound like you are coping really well!!!💜 I was surprised that you said you are going to hospital maybe. Of course, it's fine - & a very smart decision for you if you know you are in that headspace. I support you, in whatever choice is safe for YOU.
I didn't realise I was nurturing my inner child. And, I liked how you described 'breaks everywhere - in communication.'
U R heaps smart😄 ( that's me talking in my Aussie okka accent) I really do appreciate your insights. Thanks.
(my ph battery crashed - on pc now)
hmm, i havent heard the expression trauma dumped before. Do you feel it in general? or were you discussing, venting specific issues? i know i have a real issue with feeling like im trauma dumping -even with professionals - on the other hand i welcome ppl to tell me their sad stories!! (within limits - i cant always/only deal with sadness. i need to do mindless fun things to keep a balance. really only tv, online shopping, making art) I wonder why its ok for me to be there for others, but apparently i dont have the same confidence that others are capable of being there for me. Maybe we feel like our issues are too 'extra.' It could go back to the complexities of mental health i was writing about ⬆ there somewhere!!
chat soon xx
Hello @Appleblossom you sound like a natural 're-greener' with the planting in your cul de sac. What a lovely neighborhood story xx
