Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Re: Trying makes it worse

thanks @TAB it's this dish Baked Ziti Recipe - NYT Cooking (nytimes.com)

i just sometimes don't have energy to bake it - but i have done so a few times, and it gets crisp and crunchy

if not i just use the same sauce as a basic pasta sauce but i enjoy simmering it and letting it build flavour.

Re: Trying makes it worse

yeah the other ny times link worked @EternalFlower good to know you eat something besides coke and chocolate lol

yes, cooking can be enjoyable. 😊

Re: Trying makes it worse

oh lol sorry i thought it didn't work

I cook everything Alison Roman recommends she has a youtube channel called "home movies" because some of the recipes on NYT are subscriber only. Glad you love and find something enjoyable in cooking as well. At times it was really keeping me going.

@TAB

i went very hard on the coke and mangoes. I do really can't believe i subsited on that for 3 months.
My social worker says Pepsi is better. And maybe the sugar free one?

The mangoes in the supermarket seem to be phasing out - they have different varieties now.

Re: Trying makes it worse

pepsi not better @EternalFlower coke zero tastes way better. if go no sugar need to add actual food to diet

Re: Trying makes it worse

yeahi thought it was better to have the sugar one because the non-sugar is lacking anything real

I've been eating a tiny bit better @TAB i can feel my body craving substantial food afgter so much crap -

like salmon or walnuts. i guess the main thing is to have variety as well - to mix it up

Re: Trying makes it worse

if you are going to go minimal, get trail mix, its got dried fruit, seeds and nuts @EternalFlower then try to add oily fish and something like dates for roughage

Re: Trying makes it worse

@EternalFlower @TAB trying to eat healthy makes a difference to me - if/when I don't it accelerates the slippery slope downhill when I'm unwell.

The recipe looked interesting but I hit a NYT paywall.
