Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Hi @IsAnybodyThere I wanted to reply to you and say hi,

Thanks for your suggestions, but I didn't really feel the advice to go a senior Dr applies to me and I'm not needing suggestions for new services as I find that overwhelming.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to discourage. Congrats on your first post

You are quite right. I stepped over the line a bit. Struggling with everything right now. I don't think the higher strength antidepressants my GP put me on are not working at all.

Hi all,

I'm still not sure about tagging, I'll tag ppl and if it bothers or I do it wrong,,,,lmk!

Hi everyone

I'm feeling pretty triggered lately and struggling with safety

Have been happy to call Lifeline which helped really, and was able to make a safety plan which involved support from a friend. It is a good feeling to ask for help and get it,

I know in the moment or asking I feel pretty anxious that I could be too much and be turned away

I saw my Dr this morning again, and after wards spent a lot of time huddled up on the couch,

I felt really down and like my situation was heavy and stuck.

Tomorrow I am going to give my friend my medication as a safety plan, so I do not have excess. I should have done it today but tomorrow it's organised now.

How do ppl cope with triggers ? It feels like drowning.

@EternalFlower

Good to hear you have a safety plan in place. Not good that we are both awake at 2am.

Triggers ... sometimes I can distract myself by keeping busy with something else. Other times I can't cope with them at all. Depends on the trigger and what else has been happening. If I'm already down and a trigger happens I spiral out of control too fast.

I'm currently working with my therapist to try and learn how to short circuit the spiral.

Take care.

Hi @EternalFlower that's good that you saw people and have a plan.
I hope things get better for you. Im not sure I have triggers. Sometimes I am more depressed or anxious or both and sometimes I get used to it and don't think its out of ordinary until look back afterwards

Hi @TAB it's not nice to be up all night, not my preference either...

I get more depressed and anxious around interactions with family, I don't have an easy time with my parents or sisters.

I slept through the morning today and went out for a coffee now so I'm a bit anxious

Got lots of missed calls in the morning after not replying to a friend's text

Not sure how easy the weekend will be, I didn't manage to give my friend my medication or to do much

Well that's a very sweet interaction between you two @EternalFlower and @IsAnybodyThere .

I also think a lot about the archetypal significance of our teams. I also also get the overhaul overwhelmed factor.

Borrowing and expanding a bit from the "7 habits of highly effective people" book from back in the day. There's a time to get a new saw, a time to sharpen the one you have and another other time to keep on sawing.

Hi @TAB hope u are OK and sorry for Ur loss..

My friend has been checking on me and tonight we had a chat which was helpful.

I live alone and don't have so much support or family or anything so it was a nice change to get some support.

That's okay @EternalFlower things still unraveling here. Good day yest, bad day today. Wondering what I am doing. Really could have done without most of today's events. Just hard. Pack , leave, drive. Time Pressure self imposed and justified. Questionable actions. Was driving to a traffic stop, realised my lane was blocked , so cut into other lane was doing like 20.. looked, indicated ok
Briefly. Official there lost it, waving arms, yelling, talking trash, baiting me. I said nothing . Wasn't sure what planet he was from. He seemed convinced i was worst driver in world and had caused him
Great Offence. I said nothing. He threw out 4 different lines chasing a reaction. Nothing. Did throw me tho., not a normal occurrence for me. Tried to talk myself into believing he was right lol. Ok poor judgment. And if lane wasn't being used where were signs etc? Directions? Just a monkey dance and smart A commentts after i made adjustments after realising had been boxed in then got tired , and kept on going. Arrived at accom super negative. Thinking what is all this about lol
Sorry. Venting. I live alone as well. Sometimes I need perspective Thats good you got support
