My at home mental health retreat

My at home mental health retreat

Today I started Day 1 of my at home mental health retreat. Seeing as though I can't afford to go to a private psychiatric hospital (or a relaxation retreat) I thought I would be my own private psychiatrist and design a mental health rehabilitation program of my own.

Thanks to @Powderfinger for inspiring me and @Former-Member for the encouragement 😊

Here are some of the goals I'm working towards...

Having a shower every day

Cleaning my teeth every day

Going to bed at 9.30pm

Watching one of Ediya's videos before I go to sleep

Getting out of bed at 7am

Meditating for 20 minutes

Doing my affirmations in the mirror

Eating healthy food

Drinking lots of water

Taking my vitamins and antidepressants

Taking my Pug for a walk

Going for long walks in nature

Going to Yoga

Riding my bike to the river and back every day (once I have it)

Review of today...

I had a shower (and washed my hair with my salon quality shampoo and conditioner).

I cleaned my teeth.

I can't say I ate healthy food because I didn't eat enough vegetables today.

I drank lots of water.

I took my vitamins.

I listened to my audio book "The Body Keeps the Score" by Bessel Van Der Kolk.

I love this idea @Arizona and that affirmation is a great one too! I think this is such a wonderful way to keep track of your achievements for the day and make sure you're looking after yourself during these difficult times.

Enjoy your walk with your pug and take care,

CalmingNature

I took my Pug for a long walk and I think it was too much for me. I feel weak and sick. I think I have been pushing myself too hard.

I just have to have a shower and then I'm not going to do anything.

Re: My at home mental health retreat

Today is Day 3 of my at home mental health retreat. I fell asleep at about 10pm last night and woke up at 6am. I slept for most of the night but woke repeatedly in the early morning. I have woken up in a bad state of anxiety and I can feel the trauma in my body.

My goals for today are:

Do my affirmation in the mirror.

Do a meditation for 20 minutes.

Listen to my audio book "The Body Keeps the Score".

Take my Pug for a walk.

Eat healthy food.

Take my vitamins and antidepressants.

Drink lots of water.

No caffeine after 2pm.

Put a treatment in my hair.

Have a shower.

Clean my teeth.

Go to bed at 9.30pm.

Listen to one of Ediya's videos before I go to sleep.

I'm taking it easy today because I overdid it yesterday.

I have been doing everything on my list. Apart from a short nap after my morning meditation I have stayed awake all day.

I did two meditations and I will do another one tonight.

I listened to my audio book. I listened to some music.

I met my fluid intake for the day (6 glasses of water and 6 cups of tea).

Re: My at home mental health retreat

Ohhhhh I feel awfulll ☹

My depression and anxiety is very bad (I have depression and anxiety at the same time) and I can feel the trauma in my body.

Last night I ate too much and threw up (not in a major way). I have a mild eating disorder. My therapist knows about it.

I didn't have a shower or clean my teeth.

I don't know what time I went to bed but it was late.

My anxiety kept me awake for most of the night, and now it's morning (after 6am) and I have to try and stay awake all day 😣

Listen to my audio book "The Body Keeps the Score".

Take my Pug for a walk.

Clean my Pug's ears and nose roll.

Ask my GP to email my prescription to the chemist.

Eat healthy food all day.

Take my vitamins and antidepressants.

Drink lots of water.

Go to the supermarket.

Have a shower (and wash my hair).

Clean my teeth.

Do a meditation before bed.

Go to bed at 9.30pm.

Watch one of Ediyas videos before I go to sleep.

You’re doing so well @Arizona and please don’t beat yourself up if you miss some goals.

No one expects you to achieve everything during the first week. It’s a journey...walking together.
