The magic of tidying

The magic of tidying

Decluttering and minimising. Taking control of house and garden, nurturing body and soul. I've read Marie Kondo and read a little on a related Swedish method and feel inspired. I've been a borderline hoarder and lived with depression for too long and want to take the initiative. Has anyone done this? Or is there anyone who'd like to try with me?

I've sorted my books and uni notes. I've decided to sell some furniture when lockdown lifts. But the other papers and STUFF in the house and the jungle outside have me beaten atm. Some mutual encouragement and support is the only thing that's going to get me through. I know I'll have to face some decisions like "will I ever use that fabric stash" or "how many books in the TBR ,pile is too many" or "where do I start in the kitchen". Boxing isn't the answer, it was a temporary reprieve.

It's going to be a contest between my commitment to getting sorted and the looming possibility of having to move and downsize for my health. Having control of my space will be a win in either the old space or a new one.

Setting goals. Celebrating achievements. Sharing life hacks. Is anyone on board?

Dimity.

Enjoy your nap @Shaz51 - hope it is a restful one for you. Thank you for the tag for the chocolate cake - it sounds delicious and not too many ingredients is right up my alley. Might try and make it with my son on the weekend 🙂.

Look forward to chatting with you later, big hugs back ❤️

Good morning @Oaktree,

Thank you for the tag - sorry for the slow response. I haven't been on the forums for a couple of days and am just catching up on things. I hope you are well and life is being kind to you 🙂.

Warm regards,

Hey @TAB , You OK mate. What is this magic of tidying thread you have walked me into....

You saw my place in a vision, and its a hint... So whats the food situation.

I'm guessing, 1... Your crook, backs immobilized you. 2... shops are all shut, or miles away..

3.... your between cheques.... 4.... you've been kidnapped by aliens.... With you, the last is a possibility...!. don't keep me guessing..

And no... I'm not tiding up around the farm. Next big flood will do that for me.. Just kidding.

OK @TAB , Last week of picking here, so I'm dodging rain. better go. tonys mb 1

Hi Everyone

I’m currently cleaning out my fridge by cooking. Am using 600g of left-over turkey to make a pie for four (crème fraiche and all) and a salad (harissa and red onion).

And I’ve just crammed my fridge full of vegetables to support the baking of these recipes and others.

very good.

Funny @FloatingFeather , @Dimity when our house dates back to the 1930`s and you clean out some kitchen cupboards and you find these at the back 😁

What a shame you only got an hour's nap @Shaz51 - hopefully at least you will have a really good sleep tonight.

Love the gems you found in the kitchen cupboards - my mum still has those coffee, sugar, tea and flour canisters. They are exactly the same as yours except they are aqua with a white lid! You are taking me down memory lane now 🙂
