Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

  • So I took part in Topic Tuesday this evening on Physical Activity for Mental Health. I feel motivated so I am going to give up my couch potato ways and start to make an effort to get outside to walk for exercise. I am hoping that I will improve my mental health whilst losing weight and increasing fitness. I am going to keep you updated about my progress here. Feel free to join in - the more the merrier! Maybe we can help motivate each other.

I went for a walk along the ocean path this morning. The water looked so blue and inviting. It was warm but not too hot. I enjoyed the walk.

Hi Everyone

I went for a walk with my bushwalking club yesterday. Spent around 85% of the time off track conquering the untouched bush. Navigating only by pink markers on trees. Had 2 glorious lookouts, a native orchid outcrop and a unique rock formation. Magic! Couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.

As per earlier emails I would definitely still recommend even 5 minutes a day. It’s gold (my thoughts only).

Hi @Shaz51

@we saw a beautiful bird, a sleeping snake (thought to be a death adder), some fro spawn and a pademelon. And the bird songs just went on and on. Loved it.

Re: Walking for Wellness

Wow you saw a snake @Delicatessen we get snakes a lot out this way in supermarket car parks and grassy areas. The last snake sighted locally got into the shopping centre's fruit and vegetable grocers shop. They had to toss out all their produce!

@Delicatessen

Your walk sounds lovely. I would be too worried about snakes to venture off the track. Well done!

I'm happy for you @Delicatessen . Years ago my late mother and I would botanise in the bush. I don't drive and haven't teamed up with anyone who's interested.

Hey @Oaktree hows your walking doing? I walk every day. My blood sugar is improving. Got to reduce more though.

Re: Walking for Wellness

Great news about your blood sugar @Former-Member . My walking is a bit hit and miss this month. I have gone away on two respite trips so it’s a bit difficult to do my walking. Hopefully back on track in March.
