Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

  • So I took part in Topic Tuesday this evening on Physical Activity for Mental Health. I feel motivated so I am going to give up my couch potato ways and start to make an effort to get outside to walk for exercise. I am hoping that I will improve my mental health whilst losing weight and increasing fitness. I am going to keep you updated about my progress here. Feel free to join in - the more the merrier! Maybe we can help motivate each other.

Re: Walking for Wellness

Thanks for that I did know about high interval training but not 5BX you mentioned. They are both featured in this article: https://slate.com/technology/2022/04/minute-workout-hiit-new-york-times.html

I have thought of giving HIIT a go recently since my vitality had improved. Its do-able @TAB I will look into 5BX and see how I go. If its good enough for the defence force its good enough for me!

Re: Walking for Wellness

there was an australian book out on HIIT by uni researchers, only thing that comes close to results is walking, only need to do even 5 mins at start , all about rest intervals, the book said 8s/12s rest need a timer for that many intervals tho. some are up to a minute, but 8 secs at max effort sounds easier lol. I did it a few times years ago on exercise bike, def gets endorphines going. 5BX been around forever, my ankles probs not up to burpees atm tho lol @Former-Member

Re: Walking for Wellness

I've been just been checking out 5BX and Prince Phillip (Queen's husband) in the British Forces used it to stay fit all his life. Seems easy enough to do. Check this out:

Re: Walking for Wellness

Yes easy to do now I've got the energy thanks to the induced mots-c audio. Its boosted my mitochondria - the energy centres in the body. I learned about it online from a functional medical practitioner who also had chronic fatigue syndrome - he just said you fix mitochondria with your CFS and youre set. I now have full days @TAB thanks to him.
