Something’s not right

so low

so low

feeling so so low. not communicating well, not functioning well but still somehow pulling on the armour to face work, be a mum. crumbling to dust inside, reserves are gone. i know it, and recognise it and im so angry at myself and feel so guilty that im back here. i just have fail at life on repeat.

trying to focus on the self care stuff, the exercise, fresh air, eating, but dragging myself through fire to do it. nothing seems to be making a dent at the moment. i need sleep most of all but seems thats notup to me, even with light meds.

so over this never ending cycle.

Re: so low

Feeling panicky about everything from tiny things to things that are in the future. I'm just so tired and can't wind down. My ex has court again soon for a hearing and I just want it to be over already. I'm tired of waiting for it all to b over.
Have tried everything to settle myself tonight but just when I start to relax a little bit the panic creeps up again so that I can barely breathe. So much to do and my brain just does t cooperate

Hi @Former-Member

I'm sorry to read that the last few days have been overwhelming. I'm so glad that camp was worth it for the kids - you're such a selfless person. Some of my best school memories were made at camps - and it's amazing that you are part of that for other children.

I can only imagine that the exhaustion of camp and then all the worries on top of that, are causing havoc for you at the moment.

I hope you ended up getting some sleep last night.

In the past, have you found any effective strategies to manage your racing mind? I have read some suggestions in here like -

- Ear phones with music

- Listening to talk back radio

Some people say it drowns out their own thoughts.

It's not the answer to everything right now, but might help you moment to moment when you really need your sleep.

I hope you were able to ease back into things today.

Re: so low

hi all,

Its been kind of a better week in some ways. i think i've felt a bit less panicked since school camp is over. but then i got sick quite suddenly and ended up sort of collapsing at work because of bp problems and stuff. my body is just giving out on me which is quite firghtening. been resting up, though i did go to work on Friday. feeling better but still getting dizzy and feeling nauseus and not sure if its physical or im just scared of whatever is causing my bp problems being soemthing bad! but its only one more week until holidays and im going to crawl over that finish line somehow.

one slightly good thing about not being well is that i have slept the last few nights.. which is so unusual i really must not be well. i slept five hours one night in a row and then had two three hour stints last night. usually i only sleep 3 hours a night and thats usually broken.

I have tried the ear phones with music though i often just have night music on low every night. I also use the smiling minds app at night sometimes. and my psych found a new app called SAM which has a whole heap of ideas for managing anxiety when its bad and tracking anxiety etc. and its free... well so far it has been, i think you can pay for more features... (of course!)

Not good to hear about your collapse. I hope you and kids are getting good appropriate care.

One of the reason I adored and trusted my GP of a couple of years ago who I had for about 6 years .. was that he came up with the blood pressure issue .. and how that manifests in long term stress situations... and how that affected me .. one of the very few actual intelligent and useful bits of medical info I received.

Generally, mothers are more PHYSICALLY involved with their kids. A lot of their over emotionality is a body emotion interaction .. and not just hysteria .. or imagination. of course there are exceptions ... but in your case Bella .. go gently and

Take care

Re: so low

Hi @Former-Member
So glad to read that things are improving. Be sure to get the blood pressure thing looked at - it could be a simple fix.

YAY for sleep though!
Thanks for the heads up about that SAM app. I will check it out 🙂

I hope the sleep pattern continues!

What a beautiful little guinea pig @Former-Member!
Don't worry about those shoulds and musts. For the moment just do what works for you.

Be wary of letting yourself go into shut down because it's a major struggle to get back on your feet from there.

Right beside you lisajane. Try to post on here a bit it will help to keep you away from total withdrawal. 🎶💕💕🎶
