Hi @BPDSurvivor @ArraDreaming @LostAngel @Snowie @Shaz51 and everyone here. How is lockdown going for you? I'm surviving it by trying to keep myself amused with knitting and going out for daily food shopping. Lunch is getting boring for me to find as I'm over the usual rolls and take aways and always liked it when the cafes were open and we could eat in.
I will admit that I think I'm falling back into depression again due to this whole lockdown experience as I can't go and visit the library which I enjoyed doing. Also, I'm noticing that my sleeping patterns are a bit of an issue - staying up late and not wanting to get up in the mornings as there's not much to do. Eating for comfort is also an issue that possibly needs to be addressed as I'm stressed and have an issue with chocolate and coffee - warning signs for me that mean I'm not going well mentally. I'm hearing that this lockdown could be extended beyond Thursday and that there could be even more restrictions put in place for us here in Victoria which is hard to handle as the restrictions are hard enough as it is in my opinion. It's weird that the State of Emergency ends on 4/6 so part of me thinks that this lockdown could also be political in some ways as well because of what is happening.
I feel sorry for the patents of school kids and little ones who are missing out on education and social skillls by not attending their relevant social and educational settings. I think that this whole remote learning thing for school kids is hard as not all parents can afford the internet and have a computer at home for their children. I don't have kids myself but I do know that some kids struggle at school so home schooling must be very difficult for them, let alone the parents who have to be teachers as well. I don't even want to think of the children whose parents don't value education as they must really find this experience very hard. Kids need to socialise and be with others and if I'm struggling with lockdown, I would like to know what primary school and secondary school people are going through and experiencing. Their mental health must really be suffering and unfortunately, here in Victoria, our mental health system can't handle the current workload, let alone this new lot of issues bought on by this new lockdown experience.
I'm thinking of each of you in forumland. We will get through this someway and somehow. We just have to be strong and keep putting 1 foot in front of the other, taking each day as it comes.
