Lockdown 4 - let’s get around each other

Lockdown 4 - let’s get around each other

Hey everyone, we are in LOCKDOWN again! And I hate it. I'm really over it like everyone else.
But, we can't control it, we can't tell the government that we don't like it and they'll stop the lockdown so let's do the best we can.
Why don't we use this thread to support each other.

So I'll start us off with three things I could do before the end of the day to fill in time. They can big or small. You can also do absolutely nothing which is fine too.

- Take our kids for 1 hour of exercise as a family

- Go for a run to fill up the rest of the allocated exercise time (and get my personal time in)

- Build Fort with biggest small human child (already done haha)

What can you do today?

How are you feeling about lockdown?

Hi @NatureLover @ArraDreaming @Ybother @LostAngel @BPDSurvivor @HenryX @bipolarbunny and all forumites here! How are you travelling?

It's the first Saturday here in Melbourne with less restrictions than previously but still restrictions nonetheless and I've found that Bunnings has its sausage sizzle back on so I've got a happy housemate! I went to the local major shopping centre yesterday as my housemate needed big w for a layby payment and other stores and the car park was nothing short of atrocious! It's like people in my local area hadn't seen a Kmart or big w in years and needed to get in there to explore the shops, it was that bad according to my housemate. I stayed in the car as I didn't need anything but apparently it was crazy in there. The whole QR code check in thing makes people hover around it trying to check in to each shop under new rules by the government which to me is stupid and therefore no social distancing takes place there which only adds to people potentially being exposed to coronavirus. Talk about stupid! Of course, with the 5 rules not in place as reasons to go out in play anymore, it's like people in Melbourne have decided to go shopping as a day out/boredom thing since we've been locked up for so long. Oh, and as we aren't allowed into regional Victoria for the long weekend, let's go shopping shall we to make up for the snow trips we can't have!

I did go into Spotlight to collect 2 items but I spent more time lining up to pay- 15mins in the queue to pay compared to 5 mins to find my items- as there were so many people in the shop buying things. Like, what the? Again, people obviously missed Spotlight!

Take care out there!

I hope everyone has a nice long weekend in your 25km bubble, being in regional we could venture a bit further but we actually didn’t apart from going a little beyond that do some shopping at our next biggest town. Grandparents ended up visiting and taking our oldest with them, so it was a little less hectic than usual which was nice. Forgot what it was like to have just one.

All back clear. 👏🏼

I hope everyone is doing ok on this dreary Wednesday.

We received the news yesterday that my partner has been recognised in her field for some of the work she produced during COVID.
Anyone who’s knows me and my family know that we really battled last year, so for her to be recognised for the work she did during lockdown while managing a household, working from home whilst pregnant and with a toddler, in the midst of a housing crisis where we nearly didnt another rental, whilst also having a seriously ill family member is outstanding. I think for anyone to do any work during that time is an achievement but to do it so well and have it recognised in our region, and used for further work, is amazing. That’s been a highlight for me this week for sure.
