Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

I did go to a few clases a long time ago at community college thing, ok unrelated, that was a real eye opener even doing a few classes, like medication and 'breathing from toes' etc I should do it again

Re: Daily Achievements!

Thanks @LostAngel sounds like you had a productive day.

Yoga Nidra is a guided practice for relaxation you do lying on your back. The longer versions include some visualising as well. It was recommended to me by a psychologist. I'm on to my second or third app product now but they're basically the same. The 10 minute practice is mindfulness rotating through the body and is free. The longer practices go for 25 or 30 minutes and go deeper into breathing etc. The full version cost about $8 as a one-off purchase.

I've found it's quite good. I hadn't done it for a while but have enjoyed getting back to it. I'd recommend it as it's cheap soothing and non-threatening I.e. it doesn't trigger my anxiety. I do it at night to help me wind down.

Good evening @Dimity @LostAngel @TAB @MDT @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @Daisydreamer @cloudcore @utopia @pinklollipop15 and all forumites here. Well done on your achievements!

@LostAngel you always seem to achieve a lot in your day. Talk about Wonder person! I admire that and am glad to see you recognise each thing as an achievement which is quite remarkable and rewarding⭐️!

@Dimity I like how you’re into yoga which is something I’ve tried but have never been able to fully get my head around. That’s great that you like this. I’ve heard of Laughter Yoga which sounds like a fun activity to do. Have you heard of it? My housemate likes yoga as well but never does it - just likes to admire it although she would like to get back into it when her injuries settle down.

As for my achievements, today (Thursday) mine were;

- I used the time waiting for my housemate to have her podiatrist appointment to read up on sociological research methods as part of my sociology subject requirement for uni which I found quite challenging yet also boring as well.

- I had chicken cacciatore for dinner

- I worked on both my knitted beanie and my Crazy Blanket

- I took my night meds on time

- I had a shower

- I listened to Taylor Swift on my iPhone via Apple Music

- I fed my cat Mitz her dinner

- I posted on Thumbs up Thursday - Woohoo! to celebrate and recognise different forum members achievements to the forums.

That’s all from me tonight. Keep your wonderful achievements coming as I enjoy reading all of them!
