Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Hi @Shaz51

It’s so lovely to hear from you

Wow! These are amazing achievements! I would struggle to mow just half of a lawn - let alone four

Take kind and gentle care of yourself,

Good evening @ShiningStar @TAB @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Scoo @LostAngel @frog @Former-Member @Daisydreamer @MDT @BPDSurvivor @Former-Member @Adge @pinklollipop15 and everyone here. Well done on your achievements everyone! I like how there's a wide range of different things that forumites are happy about achieving such as mowing lawns; cleaning out aviaries to celebrating birthdays and being in contact with friends and families. That's great to hear👍🏻!

Yesterday, I achieved the following things:

- I finished off an adult Crazy Blanket for charity;

- I had a shower;

- I helped move a car load of things to my new property;

- I went to Bunnings for some more storage bags

- I picked out my bedroom at my new property.

Today (Sunday) my achievements have been:

- Posted on Facebook an photo of my adult Crazy Blanket;

- Went on the sane forums

- Did some work on my uni essay assessment

- Spoke to my sister about my cat who is at her place while we move properties

- Watched the news at 6pm to catch up on events in the world

- Had a relaxing hot shower to calm down as I was getting stressed and anxious about the move on Tuesday and my uni essay.

Keel those great achievements coming!

I hope you can enjoy a rejuvenating sleep.

Re: Daily Achievements!

was thinking about show on crazy birds in NZ that eat car wiper blades lol plus think on same show they showed a problem solving exercise crows or whatever got through.

They have found out different birds in different areas can do different things ie they are Learned Behaviours, like dropping rocks on things etc etc @Former-Member then there are the birds that spread fire.. ffs birds are weird lol

Re: Daily Achievements!

This raptor is one of three birds in Northern Australia known to spread fire – the Brown Falcon, Black Kite and Whistling Kite – and it is very significant to the Rembarrnga and Dalabon people of the Mimal Land Management area where Bush Heritage has a partnership with the Mimal Rangers.12 June 2020

The kea's notorious urge to explore and manipulate makes this bird both a pest for residents and an attraction for tourists. Called "the clown of the mountains",[47] it will investigate backpacks, boots, skis, snowboards, and even cars, often causing damage or flying off with smaller items. Kea have been kept as pets before being protected, but rarely, since they were difficult to capture and destructive when in captivity.

People commonly encounter wild kea at South Island ski areas, where they are attracted by the prospect of food scraps. Their curiosity leads them to peck and carry away unguarded items of clothing, or to pry apart rubber parts of cars – to the entertainment and annoyance of human observers. They are often described as "cheeky". A kea has even been reported to have made off with a tourist's passport while he was visiting Fiordland National Park.[48]

Re: Daily Achievements!

@TAB the Kea is so stunning! I hiked Milford Track in the South Island and one of the big things I wanted to see was a Kea. On my decent down the mountain on day two a whole flock (5) Kea's flew overhead. They are unfortunately becoming more and more rare 😞 They are absolutely stunning and I was so surprised how big they are, truly remarkable.

They are soooo cheeky! On the hike you walk from hut to hut, and we had to double lock doors because Keas are smart enough to open doors and let themselves in 😄 You can hear them all night, especially early morning. Still so grateful to have seen these birds in person. We were warned to zip our packs right up and have cameras on a lead because they were smart enough to fly away with any possessions not keep close to you. Love the mischievousness of Keas
