Something’s not right

annoying annoying

annoying annoying

I was at work earlier today and it was quiet in the shop...

there was one customer an old senior bloke probably over 60...

he said that it was quiet and 'I bet you are enjoying this' or something like that

......the way he said it didn't sound very encouraging and I was annoyed but I let it

'go through to the keeper'....

I'm not sure why he said it ...was he trying to tell me something?

I can't understand why people need to make these strange comments when they are

at the counter...so what if it is quiet? I am sure he has experienced it before ..

And if it is quiet isn't that a good thing we should be grateful for?

Some people are strange ..they can't expect it to be busy all the time - how are

we going to breathe?

Re: annoying annoying

@jamesle2015 working with customers and dealing with people one of the hardest jobs you will do and it can seem very thankless as well, I have been working in hospitality for 36 years now. But in the last 2 years I have been studying a Diploma in mental health, as scary as it is to change a career in your early 50's maybe, it is also exciting that I may make a difference to people that suffering from a sereve mental illness. So there are options for you jamesle2015 and you are never old to make a change, just food for thought compadre.

I hope the diploma is going well - how long is the course?

It would be an awesome job working in mental health

Re: annoying annoying

@jamesle2015 , the course usely take on average about 18 months, but 2019 I had some health issues, 5 surgeries which included one major surgery, so I had defer for 12 months. Although since March this year I managed to get 80% of it completed, so nearly there. I have keen to make a start and to make a difference to people that suffering with servere mental issue. I don't like it is ever to late to learn something new and start a challenge in your jamesle2015.

Re: annoying annoying

@haystacks It would be good but I can't at the moment...I have agoraphobia and anxiety and it affects me ...there are other problems like sometimes someone gets upset at home for minor things and then I get annoyed or feel negative....

I used to be a student but that was a long time ago

I have to go for more psych sessions hopefully next few weeks I have to call them

Re: annoying annoying

@jamesle2015 I don't know much about agoraphobia ,but I do you know about anxiety, I suffered wait panic attacks for many years and was hositalised for them on many occasions. So hearing that you are intending to do sessions with a psych would be a great idea. I had a lot of success with CBT with my anxiety and these day the effects are only a mere ripple and are under control. So have a think about it, it does take some dedication to the process by you and at first you will feel like you are on a emotional rollcoaster but, what happen with me was live changing. So bring it up with your psych about CBT my friend and also bring up in the forum there maybe others that could of had success with agoraphobia. Well take for now and keep on smiling jamesle2015.

Re: annoying annoying

@haystacksyes I have heard of CBT 🙂

btw haystacks - your handle - are you from the country? 🙂

I used to be able to drive by myself before - going back several years -

not that far but enough to get to work

But then I had a panic setback and after that I never recovered

I'm in a tough situation at the moment - I can't leave the house by myself ..

I can't go for a walk - if I try to do it I get panicked after a minute or two when I am outside...I know that I could do it if the panic wasn't there
