Moving forward

Moving forward

As Monday looms I have been trying to work out how to move forward. Today I started collecting things for my coping box (thanks @Crazy_Bug_Lady). I bought some of my fave chocolates to put in and have been gathering bits and pieces. Happy for any other suggestions as to what to put in. I think I may need one for the car too. I'm thinking I may copy some pieces of wisdom from this forum and print them up to add in.

I'm hoping that I get to write more on this thread than the struggle thread as time goes by. Please feel free to add how you are moving forward as well. 💜😊

Re: Moving forward

Nice words @Former-Member.
Do you mean Shame as just a part of the MI?
This struck a note for me.
No need to elaborate, just trying to clarify this is what you meant?
I slept not so great after 2.30am. Woke suddenly, then my little one hogging bed, but wouldn't settle in own bed. Oh well.

Re: Moving forward

Morning! Forgot that bit...sometimes hate the term, bringing to mind overly cheery people that time of day!! Lol but u probably get the gist of my moods at times!! Coffee, then let's be all cheery like. Sheesh. 😜 Unless I'm cheery...ha,ha
I got a drive this morning. Yes, I'm terrible for over thinking. My partner says I get so wound up, I make things up. I don't believe so!! But I know my pattern is exhausting to me.

Re: Moving forward

Not sure overly, other than I try discuss what worries me.
If I think logically it must be a pathway in brain I created. Like a flight, fight response one.
I think it's a high anxiety state.
I felt before going off to sleep my head tightening. I know it sounds weird. But I'm glad I fell asleep.

Re: Moving forward

@Former-Member. I guess she meant that shame was at the core of everything for me. I guess it is probably still my biggest trigger for so many of my behaviours. She would just say I suffered from shame. I am learning more about it every week. This is a talk from Brene brown who is my idol. It really starts talking about shame from roughly 12 min. If you get chance look up her vulnerability talk too. I think I need to put the post in the next box

Re: Moving forward

@Former-Member. I can't seem to add the link. It's on YouTube and called listening to shame. It's a TED talk by Brene brown.

Re: Moving forward

Morning @Former-Member @Former-Member @TAB .... 😊

I listened to a Brene Brown talk last year that was impressive .... possibly the vulnerability one .... but that is a lifetime ago at the moment .... need to revisit it and will know at the time if it's the one I have seen before .... 💜

Glad you are working back through these things @Former-Member and working them out ..... once we get through her graduation and D3 takes her gap year next year, I am going to start feeding her things like this to try to work out where she's at .... she has suffered psychological bruising from a dialect misdiagnosed as a learning disability in her early schooling, and while she appeared to outgrow the damage, I suspect she may be carrying shame issues ... now that you have explained that it can carry forward ....

All the schooling issues / WH issues / S2 issues / DIL and S1 issues etc have been like a giant dust cloud .... hard to see beyond the immediate .... but there will be back-work to do here .... one of the absolute magic things about a gap year .... and it doesn't matter if they become plural ..... there is a massive difference between an 18yo and the same kid at 21yo .... as long as they are doing something with their lives towards self-development along the way .... 😏

Probably time for a coffee .... ☕️💜
