My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

I have just seen the treating consulting psychiatrist. He was very thorough and slow. But there is now a plan.

I’m going to be started on a mood stabiliser, the one I am starting on can cause a very serious rash apparently, so has to be done slowly.

We are going to do ECT. It’s done differently compared to years ago. It’s only on one side and the electric current is less. So there is less effect on the memory.

Im also going to be transferred to the local private mental health facility, but as a public patient and funded by the government. I’m sure it’s much nicer there, but I am freaking out. Never been there before it’s the unknown. I did ask if I would be able to have leave there and the pdoc said yes. It will take a day or so to arrange the transfer, so I’m gonna guess no leave over this weekend 😩

urgg, freaking out. Am I doing the right thing????????

@Bow

hopefully the transfer will help. I guess you can only try it and see how it goes.

I hope the ect helps and the mood stabilizer does too.

Sounds like this pdoc listened to you.

Re: My Mosaic

I understand @Bow

The 'not knowing' is so scary and so hard.

But you are doing all this for your own health and for you daughter.

Re: My Mosaic

Wanna cry. So emotional. Just had a short visit with my daughter. My friend bought her in. We went down to the cafe. I miss her so much. Hard to say goodbye. My friend leaves to go overseas tomorrow. And the anxiety of not knowing what leave will be allowed at the private facilities is really getting to me. If I’m not allowed unsupervised leave then I will just have to pack up and leave.

Re: My Mosaic

This plan sounds good, @Bow ....and I thought your pdoc said there would be leave at the private facilities?

I'm so glad you can go in as a public patient 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow it is hard when family comes in to visit us. In one way it is great to see them, but the goodbye part is super hard.

I hope you are able to get leave. The hospital I go into is private and I was able to get leave, so hoping it is the same for you.

Today is a new day hon, hoping it is a little better for you.

Re: My Mosaic

Yes @NatureLover @Snowie im sure I will be able to have leave, but I need unsupervised leave to be able to go home and visit. I have no one to come pick me up. The only friend that I tell that I am in here has gone overseas. Mum doesn’t drive.

Re: My Mosaic

I was on unsupervised leave @Bow so I hope that you are too. It does make things easier. All they did on my return was make sure I hadn't brought anything in I shouldn't have.

If you are allowed, will you take a taxi/uber home and back again?

Re: My Mosaic

Yes @Snowie id take an Uber home and back. Shame ya can’t drive 😞 otherwise I’d just take car.
There is a shopping centre a short walk also. So that will be handy.

@moderator any news when chat will be back up??
