Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Yep, my old psych didn’t always reply… or call… regarding what I emailed, but it was always later discussed. Sometimes it’s helpful to have them kinda prepped for what you want to talk about. Saves some time @Snowie

Im doing another paint by number, from a photo of my daughter and I when she was younger. I have this one and another one that I started when I was in hospital. I’ll have to order some more.
how is your painting going? Have you started?

Re: My Mosaic

You are right @Bow Sometimes having them prepped does help. I wrote down things I wanted to talk about to my psych the other day. Got through about 1/4 of them, but at least it was something.

Your paint by numbers sound really good. Never knew you could order them online from your own photos.

I haven't started mine yet. Might try and get it out this weekend.

Re: My Mosaic

I love my paint by numbers @Snowie when I am doing one, I sit and think they have colour matched these really badly. It doesn’t look anything like the photo. But once I paint the eyes, it really brings it all together. I painted the eyes today on the one that I am doing and sitting here from my bed looking at it and it looks so real. Wish I could show you!

Mum wants to get a photo of my daughter and my niece with my step dad before he passes and wants me to paint it.

I find it relaxing…. Even though I do sit there and think about things. Hope it’s something nice that you can do for yourself @Snowie

Re: My Mosaic

Are you, or were you a skin picker @tyme ???

I remember when I was originally diagnosed back in my 20s, I recall reading some booklets that my folks had printed off from the net and remember reading a section about BPD were pickers. I really related to that then and I still do now.
my hands are covered in scratches But they take ages to heal cause I keep picking at them

Re: My Mosaic

In some sense, yes. But moreso on the face, not hands @Bow . When I was a kid, i struggled terribly with light switches and taps. The compulsion to check them was incessant....I'm so glad that has toned down. It doesn't take over my life anymore.

Because none of the above impact my daily functioning anymore, I don't really pay close attention (or it may become worse). Every one has these little 'stims' and 'habits', but I don't think it is an issue unless it really impacts one's functioning.

What do you think?

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry @tyme I think I read your reply last night but was sleepy and then fell asleep!

I scratch at my hands so bad. And then pick at the sores. I cover them up when they are really bad to try and stop the scratching and picking and it’s also a good way to hide them from people. They are always sore 😩

@Snowie I had a really bad night sleep last night, I woke so many more times and took ages to get back off to sleep. They seem to be getting worse. But weirdly, despite the lack of sleep, I don’t feel too bad today.

I’ve been to the shops briefly, been on the treadmill and now sitting down to watch survivor and do my nails. Community mh are suppose to be stopping by some time this afternoon.

how is your day @Snowie @tyme ??
