My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks for sharing @Snowie , that sounds really rough. How long has it been for you? And yes I’m sure you would love to get back to teaching, but yes, can understand that it is hard to see anything in your future when you are just trying to get through each day.

before I had my daughter I worked in community service. I was a case manager for a foster care agency. I read about and worked with kids that had had unimaginable things done to them. Their backgrounds and stories were heartbreaking. One of my work colleagues was on call one time when… hmm a very serious event occured between some foster kids. It was horrific and my colleague was not provided with the support she needed and She had a breakdown. The service and organisation very quickly wiped their hands of her. I’m glad that you are continuing to get the support that you deserve.

I’ve just had some dinner- lasagna and salad. And had a shower. Trying really hard to have one regularly, but it’s an effort at times. Thought since I was going in to see my CM in the morning that I shouldn’t smell!

Re: My Mosaic

That sounds like a very tough job @Bow

Working with kids is hard enough without them being in foster care for very different reasons. It is the type of work that you really need support yourself to deal with the things you see and hear.

Being on work cover allows me to see a psych and pdoc regularly, however it doesn't give me the support apart from their appointments. I have no one I can ring or talk to in between. I guess that is what I really need.

I haven't tried @Bow

I wouldn't know where to start.

Re: My Mosaic

I’d really encourage you to see if you’re eligible and sign up for it @Snowie it could be a regular support for you in between your other supports. You’d have your own counsellor, so there is that consistency.

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks for checking in @Snowie not really any better. But went in and seen my CM this morning. She did a K10 and we talked a little bit. I asked some questions about ECT, but she wasn’t really able to answer any of them. We will see if the pdoc registrar can answer any of Tuesday. It seems that although they are all part of NSW health, they don’t really overlap in this department. Like they don’t make any decisions in regards to ECT and how it will be carried out. Which is frustrating. I don’t want to have to go into hospital and agree to have the ECT before they can answer my questions, I want answers before so that it can help me make a decision.

I’m frustrated that my CM seems to think that this is my only option to maybe feeling better. She’s been pushing it for months now and I feel like she has won. don’t feel like she understands my need to have a new psych locked in. Not that that would be of much help. But it’s this constant uncertainty.

Im also a fair bit sad about the news out of sydney this morning about the paramedic.

how are you doing @Snowie ??💕
