My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

It is not complaining @Bow, it is just getting things out into the open. Sometimes we can sit with them better when we put it out there. And as you know this is a safe place to do that. We are not here to judge you, but here to support you.

I hope your mum can get support for your step dad but I also know that those things take time.

Doing your nails with your daughter sounds so much like some self care. I have just cooked part of tea and my daughter is doing the rest. What is for tea in your house tonight?

Think it might be time for pj's.

@FloatingFeather I am sorry to hear about your father. It is so hard when we lose someone close to us. My Dad was the rock of our family. Has not been the same since he passed.

Re: My Mosaic

I'm sorry to read about your dad @Snowie. I know how hard it is to watch a parent pass over a long illness. It's not easy and I think as much as people may want to understand people can't really get it unless they have lived through it.

I hope you are okay, sending you big hugs,

FloatingFeather

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Snowie

I’m having leftover quiche from last night with salad. Mums having some fish and salad and daughter will have nuggets and veggies. So complicated fixing all them different meals! Daughter is so fussy!
what are you all having?

I need to shower tonight…. That part of self care ain’t been good recently! So not like me.

Re: My Mosaic

Quiche sounds yummy @Bow

It is hard when you have to organise different food. It is good that your daughter eats veggies.

We are having fried rice with chicken curry. I am lucky that my kids will eat almost anything I serve up to them. Even luckier that if they don't like it then they are old enough to get their own tea!!

I hope you are able to have a shower. Seems like such an easy thing but can be really hard when we feel down. My hygiene seems to go astray when I feel down in the dumps. I really know it when I haven't washed my hair for weeks. Seems like a small thing but takes so much energy and effort.

Why does my body keep doing this???

Re: My Mosaic

heya @Bow, what do you mean? Wanna talk about it?

And also, sometimes I accidentally go days without a shower. It's one of the first signs for me that my MH is starting to slip. You're not alone in that ❤️

Making me remember things that I don’t want to remember @Former-Member

Im so exhausted by it by the end of the day at the moment. Then I have the nightmares to deal with.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow, I know you've been experiencing a lot fo triggers recently. It sucks.

I have nightmares too. Not sure if it's the same for you, but it sometimes feels like I haven't slept at all. I know for me, even when my MH is not at it's best, good sleep routine can help. Is there anything which has helped with your with your nightmares?

Re: My Mosaic

I have a good sleep routine… most nights. I go to bed early and generally get off to sleep easy. But yes, it’s the constant waking from nightmares that make it feel like I haven’t slept.

haven’t really found anything that helps @Former-Member i usually turn the light on and have some water. Wrap myself in a blanket or hug something.

Re: My Mosaic

❤️ Sounds like you've got some really good comfort strategies @Bow

I do a similar thing once I wake up. I get up and change my space or have a cuppa. Especially if it's a bad nightmare. Sometimes some grounding exercises. Do you ever journal about the dreams?

Weirdly, I find when I regularly journal about my dreams, I seem to be more aware that they're dreams (when I'm dreaming) and can change them. Super strange!
