My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Exposure therapy. We talked about that today in my session with my psychologist. She said that it would involve me sharing what happened on that night, she would write it down and then we would go over it and make sure it’s all facts, remove any statements around self blame etc. and then as I read and hear it over and over, it will get easier to hear.

She said it would be my choice, but she believes it would help. I want to do it, but I am terrified.

I cried a lot today. She had the photos of little me there, but I couldn’t look at them again. I didn’t wanna feel her pain.

Very raw and vulnerable tonight.

Re: My Mosaic

Wow. @Bow That sounds difficult but at the same time I find it interesting.

It sounds like a really hard session. Did you get much out of it?

What can you do for yourself tonight that’s gentle?

Re: My Mosaic

It was a hard session. We talked about a lot of things, but I often walk away from sessions and I don’t really remember much of it. It frustrates me @Captain24

Feeling really sad and alone tonight

Re: My Mosaic

I feel the same. @Bow. I had a long hard session with my nurse today and don’t remember a lot of it.

I’m sorry you feel sad and alone. Is there anything I can do for you?

Re: My Mosaic

Do you often not remember stuff from sessions @Captain24 ? Is it normal to not remember? I often wonder if it is part of ourselves trying to protect us??

Re: My Mosaic

I don’t know if it’s normal or not @Bow but you just made me feel normal! Lol.
My nurse wasn’t at my last psych app and asked me questions and some I couldn’t answer because I couldn’t remember. I find if there is so much to take in I can’t do it all. Maybe it is a self preservation thing or just your head can only take in so much.

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah that’s makes sense. I sometimes see my case manager straight after my session with my psychologist and she often asks how it was and what we talked about… most of the time i really have no clue and feel so stupid @Captain24

Re: My Mosaic

When I’m in that situation, like today, I just say that it was a lot to take in and I’m still processing it! @Bow Yes I feel stupid too, you are not alone, but I think I sound better than I feel.
