Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Hi @Snowie,

I hope you are okay, triggers are no fun particularly when a lot of things are triggering. I hope they ease for you soon. Sending you hugs and understanding.

Warmest,

FloatingFeather

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry @Bow just got caught up with something.

Cooking with daughter sounds like a great idea. She will probably really enjoy it, especially spending time with her mum. Maybe just allow yourself one cookie and stop there.

Trauma anniversaries are no fun. They are super hard to ignore. Even though I put steps in place, they are still hard to go through. Please remember that we will be here for you hon. We are only a tag away.

Thanks @FloatingFeather , I hope you had a nice break.

Thanks @FloatingFeather @Snowie

daughter is happy playing in her room so I got on my bike. Also been trying to sort out some vacation care for my daughter.

mums not in a great place today. My step dads really not well at the moment. He has ok days and then bad days. His breathing is getting worse. Can’t do much for himself anymore. Not eating much. It’s sad.

Re: My Mosaic

I am sorry to hear about your step Dad @Bow It is hard to see them going downhill. I know how you feel. All you can do is take each day as it comes and be there for them.

Never told anyone on here but I cared for my Dad for about 3 years. He had a terminal illness and he lived with us. It was hard to watch him go from a fit man to someone who couldn't do anything for themselves and hooked up to oxygen 24 hours a day.

Re: My Mosaic

That must of been hard @Snowie … caring for your dad.

my step dad smoked for most of his life, managed to give up a couple of years ago. He also worked with a lot of chemicals as a printer, so his got a lot of lung damage, and his heart is failing too. His on oxygen 24hrs a day now too. For many many years now he has just sat around and done nothing. Drinks a lot too. But now he spends more time in bed cause his just so unwell.

I need to keep myself well for everyone else’s sake, but it’s hard when inside I am falling apart. I try and hide it the best I can.

Re: My Mosaic

It was @Bow , not something I talk about a lot. It was lots of time in hospital near the end of his life. I remember being in the room when he passed away. I was honored that he wanted me there at the end.

I hope that he is at least comfortable within himself and does not suffer with much pain. It must be really hard on you too, especially trying to explain things to your daughter. I struggled telling my kids things and learnt very early on that I just needed to be truthful with them. Kids take it much better then some adults do.

You don't have to hide how you are going on here hon. We are here for you. I think it is only natural that we try and hide things, especially from family members and friends.

I'm sorry to hear about your step dad @Bow. That must be really hard on all of you. My father passed after a long illness in 2021 - it's never easy. It's also hard watching people you love going through something like this and feeling that even though you want to make it better you really can't.

Wishing you, your step dad and the rest of your family understanding and hugs.

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Snowie @FloatingFeather

sorry about your father too @FloatingFeather

It’s hard when there isn’t really anything that I can do to help. I mean I do things around the house and yard, but that’s all I can do. I give a lot of my time… probably to my mum, to take the slack? Of what my step dad would normally do. I feel bad when it irritates me. Like today I took a car load of beer cans to recycling and there is still heaps in the garage… and I did another load just before Christmas. I have to do it cause no one else can. There is a lot of things that I have to do cause no one else can. My mum is applying for NDIS for my step dad, but goodness knows how long that will take to get approved.

anyways, shouldn’t complain. I feel bad now 😩

my daughter and I have just done our nails. It was nice to sit down and do it together. Guess I should go organise dinner now.

Don’t feel bad @Bow. It is so hard and to have so much fall unto you. Vent as much as you like. We are always here to listen. Remember there is no judgement and others do understand.
