My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow Good to see you are home. I hear you, appetites can vary dependant on certain things and ED's are so complex but I think the idea is (possibly, I don't know) that it can be a steady slope if you skip the meals when you aren't necessarily hungry. I can hear that you are really trying your best to recover and as we know it's not linear but try to keep going and do what you can to support yourself. You're doing really well. It's so hard 💝

Re: My Mosaic

Feeling really lost at the moment @Captain24 not sure what to do with myself.

i feel incredibly depressed. But not letting mum know. I have zero energy and motivation to do anything. Not even my usual compulsive exercise. I have slept the last 2 afternoons- not like me. I have had a change in meds- maybe it’s that.

my case manager called today, she sorted my meds out for me, so that’s good. But she is away for the rest of the week. I’m going in to talk with someone else tomorrow. I hope at least it’s the usual guy I talk to in her absence. I never heard back from my psychologist.

need to start thinking about Christmas, have some ideas for my daughter. But don’t even have the motivation for that.

Re: My Mosaic

I can totally understand the depression and no motivation @Bow. It’s hard. I spend most of my non working days on the lounge.

Is there anyone that you can go and have a chai latte with? Just to try and do something? Mind you I don’t take my own advice! Lol

Are you able to start with Christmas by shopping online? It may take some pressure off.

could it be the med changes that’s putting you in this place?

I am sitting with you

Re: My Mosaic

Motivation is a hard thing to attain and maintain. Maybe your body is telling you you need a rest @Bow ? Med changes can really mess with you body and your motivation. I like @Captain24's idea of online Xmas shopping? Maybe even just some ideas?

Do you have a favourite Xmas memory? I loved the smell of Barbie plastic 👃

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow

It can be incredibly difficult when our motivation and energy is low. For me it tends to compound, make other things harder, and then I become more stressed which leads to me becoming even more tired. Often, I find out later that I really needed rest, but was splitting my rest with worrying about not resting enough or resting too much - a classic dilemma I think!

Either way, I'm sitting with you, and hope it passes sooner rather than later 💙

Thanks @Former-Member @Captain24 @Former-Member @Paperdaisy

It could be my meds. While in hospital they started giving me a half dose of my nighttime meds, in the morning. It doesn’t really make me sleepy, but it probably doesn’t help with the lack of energy and motivation.

i seen my gp today- she’s always so kind. And then I went to community mh. My case manager was away so I chatted with someone else. Both appointments went ok.
then I went and did a little bit of Christmas shopping.

I’ve just dropped my mum off at the emergency department too. Second time this week. Not sure if I mentioned it earlier in the week. Chest pains again that were worse. 😞

I see my dietitian tomorrow. Will be good to chat with her. I’ve stuck to my meal plan since leaving hospital, but I really struggle around dinner time. I’m just not hungry. I just wonder whether 3 meals and 3 snacks is essential??? It just feels so much. Do you eat 3 meals and 3 snacks (morning, afternoon tea and supper)??

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow, I know sometimes it must feel uncomfortable to follow the plan, good work for nutting it out!! Maybe you can chat to your dietician tomorrow about the evening meal.

Sorry about your Mum, that is super scary!! Is she still there now?

Did you find something nice for your daughter today?

Xx

Re: My Mosaic

I hope that your mum is ok @Bow.

You sound a little more positive today than yesterday. I hope you are feeling it. Starting some Christmas shopping is great. At least the motivation to do a little was there.

It’s good that your appointments went well and that you are looking forward to see the dietitian tomorrow. All good signs.

I can’t help you with meals as the way I eat and what I eat isn’t healthy or suitable. It sounds like your eating is going ok and I don’t want to trigger anything. So sorry.

Im proud of you @Bow!!!!
