My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

I agree that you are important but you are also an adult @Bow

and they shouldn’t speak to your mother without your permission.

Sending lots of love 💙🙏💙

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow that's not good, they should speak to you, the patient, before speaking to your mum! 😞

What bothers me as well is that I think EDs are partly about control, am I correct? When everything is out of control, you can control what you eat /don't eat? (This impression is from talking to 2 friends who have an 11-year-old son and a sister with anorexia.) So taking away yet another bit of control from you is not advisable, I would have thought!

Sending 💜

Re: My Mosaic

Yes you are correct @NatureLover ED’s…. At least mine, is a lot about control. That’s how mine started, as something I could control. And often relapses are triggered when something else I can control has been taken away from me.

Re: My Mosaic

I had a really helpful and really validating appointment with my dietitian today. It was unfortunately moved to a Telehealth which I’m not a fan off, but it was still a helpful session.

i was annoyed that the hospital dietitian didn’t call my dietitian like she said she was. That meant I had to go over everything with my dietitian, which is always a bit challenging, but I did it.

im still not eating enough, which is a real challenge, I thought I would be. She wants me to have some ensure as a supplement as well as what I am already having. She wanted me to have 3, but I agreed to start at just 1.

i had the opportunity to talk about what happened in hospital, how the gastro team were very reluctant to NG tube me despite me going so long without eating, yet another girl came in with an eating disorder and was NG straight away and had gone half the time I went without eating. My dietitian asked me if I noticed anything different about this other girl… I knew straight away what she was referring to… that she was much thinner than I was. My dietitian said I was discriminated against due to my size and that it was very wrong. And that I have every right to make a formal complaint. She has suggested that if I am hospitalised again that I ask the hospital to liaise with her as well. I felt really supported and validated during this conversation.

i have a bit of a plan moving forward to try and avoid another hospital admission. Have figured out some of my early warning signs (dropping my morning and afternoon tea drinks and then dropping breakfast and lunch) and I need to work up the courage to talk to mum and ask her to gentle remind me if she notices those things dropping off.

i was doing alright after my appointment, but have been really triggered by something on here and now not sure where I’m sitting. 😩

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Bow , I'm glad you had a helpful appt with your dietician 🙂 👍

But I'm sorry you were triggered on here 😞

Regarding control being a big part of EDs, I find it's also a big part of my OCD and Excoriation Disorder too.

Sending you wishes... 💜
