My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow it seems crazy that you still haven't seen the dietician and that your meds haven't come yet...is this all your meds, or just sleep meds?

I'm so disappointed for you that it seems like you've been sitting in a parking bay for all this time, waiting for appropriate care! 😞

And I was wondering if you could ask that doctor what he meant by "therapeutic psych ward"?

Re: My Mosaic

It’s been very frustrating @NatureLover

It’s all my regular psych meds. I will try and ask the nurse if I can possible see the mh guy again today. He usually comes around every 2 days so not due today, but all I can do is ask.
The mh guy I’ve seen a few times, he should automatically put me down to see a dietitian based on my history. I really don’t understand what the delay has been. Can only hope that today is the day.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow I'm shocked that you've been without all your regular psych meds all this time!! 😮 That is absolutely terrible care! 😡

Can you jump up and down (figuratively) and demand your psych meds and a dietician?

OMG, I'm sending wishes for your psych meds and a dietician to happen this morning!!

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry I don’t have much to give @Bow but I’m sorry that they aren’t helping you. I agree with @NatureLover . You should start jumping up and down about your meds.

Re: My Mosaic

Yes @NatureLover I understand them stopping them for a couple of days to give my body a break after my attempt. But this has been ridiculous. How am I suppose to start getting anywhere near to being on the way home if I’m feel so low and depressed when off my meds. I think perhaps they would of restarted them when I got to the psych ward…. Which I guess they expected to happen the beginning of the week, but it hasn’t. And I have no idea when or if that will even happen now with how everything is going with my medical stability and no eating. I guess I’ve just made things more complicated 😩

Mum called and spoke with my nurse this morning. She’s going to speak with the team and make sure my meds are written up *fingers crossed it actually happens*.

been emotional this morning. The gastro team came by. I cried. I’m really bad at advocating for myself. They asked if there was anything that I needed… anything that I felt would be helpful. I know what needs to happen, but I’m too scared to say it. Too scared for it to happen.

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Bow

Sorry to hear you've had such an intense experience this morning. It can definitely be really hard to advocate for ourselves when we're going through a rougher patch. I know even on my good days I still struggle with it sometimes! Good job getting through it, and thanks for sharing with us.

Did you feel that the appointment was in some ways helpful?

I'm sitting with you today, and hope there's a little sunshine after your cloudy morning 💙

not at all helpful @Former-Member unfortunately. Something needs to shift otherwise things are just going to continue like this. My body is really struggling

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Bow

Very unfortunate, sorry it ended up that way.

It can be pretty tricky feeling stuck in place, I've had my fair share of that before. Is there anything you have found helpful in the past for addressing those feelings?

It's small, but a piece of advice I was once given was to change up something in my usual routine that I take for granted, and pay attention to how it affects me. I went to a different grocery store than I usually did, and I was so surprised at how a decision like that made me feel like I was completely changing a cycle I hadn't realised I was in.

Sorry to hear your body is struggling today as well. So many things to be managing it once, it sounds like. Take it easy and do what you can to practice self-care 💙

Re: My Mosaic

Finally seen the dietitian this afternoon. Had a good cry and said to her that although it’s not what I want, an NG tube is where things are at. She agreed. Said she would talk to the team and try and organise it today, although it’s getting along and I doubt it will get sorted today now. But at least there is potential a plan in place.
