My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

OMG, @Bow ...you are an incredible survivor - just amazing what you have been through and your resilience in the face of such a lot of trauma.

I can relate to this, as I get terrible fears too.

I hope your fears have eased this morning... Sending lots of hugs 💜

Re: My Mosaic

I seen my psychologist this morning. Does anyone else just hang out for their appointments with their supports? I do. I know I say it a lot, but I really do feel seen, heard and validated in my sessions.

Today wasn’t too bad. We had a couple of difficult conversations around SI and my safety. And I shared my adult healthy self response to my inner child’s letter- she said I did a real good job. It was certainly much harder to read it aloud and hear them words though.

Then I talked about my anniversary from yesterday. I realised that I always focus on the bad stuff. All the terrible things that have happened over the years… cause yes they were really traumatic and there has been alot of them. But my psychologist helped me to remember that there have been good things too. It then reminded me of the name of my thread, my mosaic. And how our lives are made up of so many tiny little pieces, some ugly and black, others bright colours and nice and sparkly. And that if we only ever focus up close on each piece, that’s all we see. But if we take a step back we will see the full picture. Yes, each pieces matters, if it was missing there would be gaps in the masterpiece.

So, I’m wondering if you my friends would be willing to share some things that have happened in your life that have been good? @NatureLover @Snowie @Paperdaisy @hanami @Eve7 @Emelia8 @tyme and anyone else. My psychologist has challenged me to do this. To write about them. And to include them in my next book cause they are important pieces in my life.

Today I shared with my psychologist the overseas trips that I have taken. Spending a summer at camp in America and then having a white Christmas in Canada- that was magical! My 2 missions trips to India and the Philippines, in the Philippines I got to met my compassion child, that was really special! We had compassion Sunday this past Sunday at church, I thought about my compassion child a lot.

Hi @Bow

This is so great! I'm so glad you had a rewarding session with your psychologist.

The two great things that I've done that first come to mind is my two trips to Japan and becoming friends with a Japanese woman and her family and continuing that friendship over the years. The first trip was in 2014 and my entire family went together (four kids, husband, daughter's boyfriend). Second time it was husband, youngest daughter and myself and we met up with my son who was over there studying at the time. He had met a Japanese girl who became his girlfriend and we met her too. It was an amazing time. Writing about this has made me want to go back this year sometime!

We are heading to London for a friends wedding. Doing a day trip on the train to Paris and then Disneyland in California on the way home.
it’s a big trip, a bit overwhelming, but I’ve been researching and planning a lot. We will be gone nearly 4 weeks. Just me and my daughter.

Hi @Bow

I am glad you had a good session with your psych. It sounds like it was helpful for you.

Sounds like your holidays were really good parts of your life. I am glad you have the memories.

I think I would have to say that having my two kids was the best thing that happened for me in my life. It gives me a purpose to keep going everyday.

Re: My Mosaic

Hello @Bow it sounds like you have a really good psychologist who is very good at supporting you.

A highlight for me was the birth of my first granddaughter. As we’d lost aww our baby girl it was just wonderful to have a baby girl in the family.

Another highlight was when someone I coached was named in an Australian team. To have coached an athlete to wear the green and gold was humbling.

Finally my trip to Romania and see where my sister had worked in an orphanage…that was life changing.

Thank you @Eve7 and @Snowie for sharing! Yes our kids…. And grandkids are always going to be a highlight for us. My little girl was such a huge high. I always wanted to be a mumma and to be blessed with a little girl was the best.

and @Eve7 what an amazing achievement to have someone you have trained wear the green and gold!
