My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Morning @Bow,

Checking in to see how you're feeling today now that you're back at home? I hope you were able to get some rest last night and that you can get in touch with your case worker and/or your therapist – you shouldn't feel like you need to walk through this alone.

I'm sorry to hear the emergency dept. weren't able to provide you with the help you needed. I'm wondering whether it would be worth exploring other possibilities in that respect i.e. specialised clinics, and also if the Butterfly Foundation could help in some way with putting you in touch with the appropriate support re. day programs or in/outpatient services. Here is a link to their Find a Professional search engine.

Be safe and well today, Bow.

Thanks @Former-Member @NatureLover @Emelia8 @Eve7 @tyme

im so exhausted today. My daughter is home sick today, so sleep is hard to find. But I am in bed resting at least.

There aren’t any local ED wards here, there is an inpatient program closer to the city, but it’s not open at the moment due to covid. My case manager did put through a referral for me though, waiting list is long too. I think they will provide my case manager with outpatient support until I can get in though.

I cried a lot last night in the emergency department. I feel so frustrated. Unheard. Invalidated. Still feeling really emotional. Trapped. A lot of SI. I’m safe.

Re: My Mosaic

Thank you for dropping back in and providing us with an update, @Bow. There are so many of us here, both behind the scenes and in the forums, that care about you 💙

Covid has been terrible in many respects, but as you say, it's made it so hard for people to access inpatient support at a time when they might need it the most. Hang in there, I'm so pleased to read that you are on a waitlist (though sorry you have to wait at all) and I really hope that your case manager can work to find you some appropriate outpatient support.

I hope your daughter feels better soon too.

Thanks @Former-Member @Eve7

My daughter is ok. Certainly better than she has been, very evident by the massive tantrum that she put on this afternoon. Pushing all my buttons when i really had none to be pushed. She went to her fathers for a few hours, which gave all of us some much needed peace. I slept.

my case manager didn’t call me back. Maybe she wasn’t in today. Maybe she didn’t wanna deal with me. Pretty sure she is due to do a home visit tomorrow though.

i ended up emailing my ED psychiatrist this afternoon. Explained where things are at and what happened at the hospital. I’m not due to see her for another week and a half, but asked for any suggestions or input. Feeling desperate.

i did manage an up and go tonight. And I got some Powerade. I think perhaps my mum is a bit more clued into where I’m at? She made me have that up and go.

tired tonight

Re: My Mosaic

Feel for you @Bow having to deal with tantrums when you’re so unwell.

I hope she goes to bed early for you tonight and that you both get some good sleep ready for school tomorrow.

It seems like you’ve been able to tick a couple of boxes today so you should be proud of yourself..small steps hon and you’ll get there.

Lots of love 💕

Re: My Mosaic

You never left my mind all day

whispering and controlling all that I did

Driving me into this lonely isolation

encouraging me to go on

all the while screaming it will never be enough.

I kept a tally today. 6 times I ended it in my head today. Wish just one was real.
