Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Do you ever drive to appointments and then just can't get out of the car? Too much anxiety. Fear.

Re: My Mosaic

I managed to get out of the car @Snowie and attended my first appointment with my new psychologist. She was lovely.

She could tell I was anxious, offered to take a walk outside for our appointment, which was kind and thoughtful of her. I said I was ok and we stayed inside. She said I could take a break at any time if I needed it. Again kind and thoughtful of her. I explained that she was my third psychologist that I have seen this year and that this was difficult, she said she understood.

She right from the beginning said that she was familiar with eating disorders and that she is also on the DBT team, as there was talk of referring me to them also at some point. I felt so relieved when she said that she was familiar with EDs.

We didn't go deep into anything today, talked a fair bit about my daughter and the challenge I have around contact with my ex. She was glad to hear that I was proactive in ensuring that she was as safe as she can be (reporting concerns to both police and child protection).

She said that she was keen to work with me and says that I have lots of potential. She will allow me to keep going in for face to face for a few weeks... will do weekly appointments as she feels I need that at the moment.

we also talked a bit about my safety, actually got that out of the way first.

I'm pretty sure I like her. She was easy to talk to. I do need to see if any potential therapy that I do with the professor is going to clash though. Maybe now that I possible have a decent psychologist that is familiar with eating disorders and I feel is a good fit I won't need to see the professor? But the professor is top in her field. And is bulk billed. I will need to wait and see what happens next Tuesday with that appointment.

anyways, I need to stop rambling. Sorry.

Re: My Mosaic

oh @Bow

I am so glad she was lovely and you made a connection with her. Even better if she can help you through all of this.

I am glad that you can do face to face appointments with her, so much better than just over the phone.

You have put a smile on my face hon, so happy for you.
