My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

@Bow

How exciting for D that the day is finally here! That is a long day and I hope it goes well for her. How are you feeling today?

Two loads of washing, packing D’s clothes for her and starting on your own suitcase is a good effort! Hope finishing off packing your own suitcase today goes ok for you.

I managed ok with my night out. Was pretty tired but thankfully since it was a movie (official recording of the stage show) I didn’t have to talk too much.

I hope things go as well as possible with your CM today and that you’re able to say what you need to in a way that fits with how you want to relate to her. 💛

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @AuntGlow

that meeting was a disaster. My CM didn’t back me up and the manager refused to show any compassion and they have since exited me. So now I’m without a SW.

we survived the school holidays. Didn’t really do much at all, but the very end of the holidays I took D into the city for the night, seen the lion king musical which was amazing. It was a massive 2 days away and really took it out of me but D had fun.

Mum came back from tassie but is now already back down there again and D and I head down tomorrow cause my brothers condition has deteriorated significantly, he had a seizure and a fall, head injury which prompted a head ct and they found significant cancer growth in the brain. He was give 3-10 days so we rushed to organise ourselves but he seems to of picked up again, so don’t really know. But still going tomorrow.

My CM has been useless. Comm mh have been useless. I’m frustrated.

how r u?

Hey @Wintersweet

D was so excited to get up and out the door today. I’m ok, just tired. I actually went back to sleep on the couch after D left- set myself an alarm for an hour.

social movie outings are alright true… doesn’t require much talking.

i went and seen my CM this morning. Urgh. Why’s it gotta be so hard? She wanted to know about my brother which I told her. Then came the questions about how I coped while mum was away. I told her how hard it was but she was very dismissive saying I got through it. She wanted to know how I felt without the support of the SW, trying for different angles. I knew where she was going. She’s not putting through a new referral straight away, couldn’t guarantee a different organization would be any different. Urgh.

and then the one that made me angry, she asked how she could support me while I’m away. I said I’d still really appreciate a weekly phone call to be able to unload a bit. She then asked how my relationship with my mum was, if we talk (we don’t) and went on about how u should try and talk with my mum more and maybe now would be a good opportunity to do that. And then she was asking about how I’d get to the airport and stuff and I told her a friend was taking us down and then she started asking about whether I talk to my friend about stuff and whether she’d be a good support. (!!!)

She wrapped things up and then says… ‘well up until tomorrow when you leave you can still call me, then I won’t be able to call while you’re away’. Why the bloody hell didn’t she just say that straight up???

oh and with a new referral for a SW, if I go ahead with the DBT group and they accept the assessment, apparently I can’t even have a SW while doing that’s. I’ll attend DBT group and then one on one DBT therapy and they don’t like other people involved?! What the heck?? SW’s are not clinical, so what they actually do is very limited. They are basically a person to talk to, setting basic goals, like encouragement to shower, to eat, to get to and attend appointments. I don’t see how that would interfere with DBT? Maybe I’m wrong?

im just so highly annoyed by her. So no contact or support from anyone now while away.

I need to go focus on packing now

Hi dear @Bow Hoping you haven't come down with anything

I hope D's school event goes well tonight and you are able to enjoy it.

Leaving some 💕💕 for you

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow

I’m so sorry your CM did that to you. To dismiss how hard it was without the support, to not put you in for a referral, to sign you up for the DBT group assessment and not tell you that would mean no SW support, and then to ask what you need and wrap things up by saying she can’t do that… That would all feel so awful!

I understand needing to just focus on what’s in front of you right now. Sending you all the 💛

Thanks @Snowie @Wintersweet

we are up and just about ready. Spending a moment on the couch in front of the fan. Wish my internal thermostat would run on cold and not hot 🥵

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow

Wishing you a safe drive. I can really empathise with the internal thermostat frustration. It really messed with me for the years mine seemed constantly set too high. Do you have AC in the car?

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Snowie @Wintersweet

travel day went ok. Flight was good. Picked the car up with no dramas and got to my brothers house. He was discharged this afternoon so is back home with mum.

Our hire car does have AC and as soon as I got in it I had to work out how to use it and turn it on high. It’s a flashy fairly new car. An MG. The hand break is a button… must remember that one!

it’s really hard, his so confused. He has this tech gadget basically a pc in your hands, his forgotten the pin. I watch him as he picks it up, looks at it and then puts it down again. His hearing aids aren’t working properly so can’t hear anything. It’s gonna be hard for mum.

cause my brother is home we will be stay with my dad. Urgh.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow

I’m glad the travel went ok. That would be really hard seeing your brother struggling, and staying with your dad too. Is there anywhere you can go if you need some time by yourself?
