@Bow
That’s beyond awful.
I’m so proud of you for reaching out to the old old old SW, and so grateful you did that. 💛
If there’s anything at all we can do to help, please let us know. I know you need in-person support, but if it’s at all helpful, please post stuff. It might be about what you want to say to the different supports, what you might want to send to someone like your MP, what you’re feeling (I know the forums have limits but even being able to say “I feel rage, I feel hurt, I feel alone” lets us validate that those feelings make sense and that it’s natural for you to be struggling given the situation). And please know that we can relate to the things you can’t say, and that we care deeply about your safety.
I’ve looked through the Recovery Club stuff myself and if it feels less overwhelming to discuss it with us than to look at it alone, please do. I had to skip some of the stuff as it was too hard with where I was at but other things were useful. Also, if you want a recommendation for someone to talk to, I spoke with Stephanie and she was lovely. I explained in our first conversation that I struggle with shutting down when talking (plus what that might sound like) and she understood. Of course, I also get if that’s too hard right now (it’s totally understandable if it is!) but I thought I’d share in case it helped reduce the barrier at all.
Is there any way for you to be able to visit Safe Haven today? (Again, I want you to have support but fully understand if you just can’t!)
If today is a day to lie on the floor and look at the kittens, or to just lie in bed, know that I see and value how much effort surviving takes. If harmful coping strategies come up, I want you to know that I both have so much compassion for the reasons behind those strategies, and also really want you to be safe because you matter to me. (Not that it’s about me, but those things are true and I thought it might help to be reminded that someone does have compassion for the struggle and does care about your safety.) 💛
