My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

I sent a text to my SW saying similar things. Wonder if she will reply @Snowie

im watching 24 again. From the start. Would love to go get a kitten to snuggle up with but the dog goes stupid when they are up here. She makes alot of noise and is up and down from the couch. And literally every time I get off the couch she will get off the couch too thinking I’m heading downstairs to the kittens.

we were talking about whether teachers would turn up today. And with the probable lack of students, the ones that do attend will just get split into other classes.

hope your pdoc appointment goes ok

Re: My Mosaic

I hope your SW gets back to you @Bow I really don't get it especially when they have a duty of care to each person. It would be good to know if others are having similar experiences to you. I'm sure there are others.

I remember watching 24. It was a good tv show. I've been watching a show called The Lioness. Just waiting for the next episode to come out.

I don't think my dog would cope with kittens in her house! It sounds like your dog could be jealous!

Even if teachers/students turned up I don't think it would be much of a learning day. Everyone would still be tired.

Re: My Mosaic

She replied @Snowie but it’s just words. Words mean nothing at the moment. I can’t trust her yet. And she hasn’t really been reliable so far. Time will tell.

i turfed the dog outside to go to the toilet about 1/2hr ago. Got a kitty sleep on my chest. But dog is starting to scratch to come in.

the lioness… don’t think I’ve heard of that.

have you had your pdoc appointment yet?

Re: My Mosaic

You're right @Bow actions speak louder than words. I hope she realises that. I can understand not being able to trust her yet. That needs to be earned.

I'm sure the kitten is comfortable!

Yeah spoke to pdoc. He is very straight forward. Will ask direct questions. I told him most things.

I have to email him if things get worse. Got another appt. now next week.

Re: My Mosaic

Yep, let’s see what her actions are like hey @Snowie unfortunately I don’t feel confident though.

kitty is very comfy, all spread out on her back. She’s my favourite, I just call her pinky cause she has a pink collar, don’t know which one she is.

dog is still outside! lol she hasn’t got desperate to come in yet.

im glad your pdoc is good and will ask direct questions. I think that’s really important. Mine didn’t care really. Next week is good! Will you get to see him face to face?

Re: My Mosaic

I really hope for you that your SW proves to you she can be trusted @Bow

Kitty sounds very comfy!!

It will only be a phone call next week. I really should go see him. Well overdue. His offices are over an hour away and in city so I try to avoid the commute if possible. But there are some things I just can't say over the phone.

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Snowie me too

kitty is back down with her sisters now. Mum came home so I had to get up and unlock the screen door, she then let the dog in who immediately started fussing over the kitten.

yeah it is hard to say some stuff over the phone. My only regular Telehealth is with my dietitian and she lets me email through an update prior if I need to which I appreciate.

what are you having for dinner tonight? I just got chicken kiev out of the freezer and some wedges- will have some sour cream and sweet chilli sauce with the wedges.

Re: My Mosaic

I'm sure kitty enjoyed the cuddles @Bow

Phone calls are hard. My pdoc lets me email things too. I'm glad your dietitian does. It can make it easier.

Dinner is leftover night. I have meals in the fridge/freezer that can be eaten. If kids don't want it then they are old enough to make their own.

Chicken kiev's are yummy. So are wedges, especially with sour cream and chilli sauce!

Re: My Mosaic

we just spoke with my brother and step mum (Urgh I don’t ever call her that, but that’s what she is I guess), my brother seen his oncologist today. To be honest we were all expecting the worse. His oncologist stopped his chemo very suddenly when she got his blood results. But the news was a little bit more hopeful. She is going to start him on a new chemo mix which if it helps, could give him another 5 mths or so, compared to 3mths with nothing. His cancer has spread to his liver and lungs and other organs and has grown, hence the pain. After this new chemo, there maybe the option for him to come up here and try another chemo that isn’t available in tassie (sad that it depends where you live as to what kind of treatment you can access). It’s available at a hospital about 20mins from us. He had his next appointment while my mum is there so his oncologist will talk with mum about it then.

so yeah, much better news than we were expecting. His on a heap of bowel meds cause he ended up in hospital earlier this week cause he hadn’t been in 2 wks. That affects his pain also.

we still don’t know what to do about our cruise. Think maybe we will wait until his next appointment in less than a month and see how he responds to this new chemo. May lose a little bit of money.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow and @Snowie

Sorry, I typed a reply and then my phone lost it. Finding it hard to write replies between fogginess and overthinking. I care about you both though and made sure I read with through the posts so I knew what you’d said.

@Bow I’m so sorry the pdoc seemingly ignored what you said and didn’t have a conversation about how to help you stay safe. Are there particular responses or questions from people that you find helpful when you’re struggling like that? Obviously not acknowledging it is the exact opposite of helpful, and most things would be better than that, but I wondered if you knew what would be the most helpful (although I get that you might not know and that’s ok!)

I’m glad the SW texted you back, but get why it would take more time and more experiences of her being there for you before you feel like you can trust her.
