Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Izzy knows some words @Bow Dinner, walk and a few more

I'm sorry that happened to you and your mum. Your SIL doesn't sound like a nice person.

All kids have meltdowns hon. Some more than others. The smallest thing can set them off. Both my kids had meltdowns when they were younger. Sometimes it was big, sometimes just a little one. It doesn't make you a bad mum at all.

My daughter sees a psych about once every 3 months (she has ADHD). It helps her. She is still achieving things in her life. Would that make me a bad mum because she sees a psych? No, it just means she needs some extra support at times.

Re: My Mosaic

It’s very soothing eh @Nala2022 what’s your cats name? Mine is Groot… Mr Groot.

yep, some time out to myself helped…. Except laying down has affected my ear. Fluid has all moved around.

tomorrow I just have a late afternoon appointment with my interim case manager. She had booked it as a Telehealth video, I think cause when I spoke to her on Thursday I was still sick. Much better now after stronger antibiotics and I’d really appreciate an in person appointment. Haven’t seen anyone for over 2 weeks and I really need it.

Re: My Mosaic

Walk…. Lulu knows that too @Snowie and ‘go’. lol I get into trouble if I say it and don’t take her.

our relationship with my SIL has been very tumultuous. She definitely wears the pants in their relationship. She’s very judgmental. We all lived together for a few years and there were many times when we would not be speaking.
it’s sad. Want them in our lives. I want to be part of my niece and nephew’s life, but she has pushed us away so much and put a wedge between us all. It’s horrible. I think about when my mum eventually passes…. I wil be very much on my own. It’s depressing. A lot of thoughts. I’m safe.

I think my D needs some help to regulate her emotions. When something sets her off she is so hard to calm down. I have moments in those meltdowns where I am capable and I can help her cause I know what helps me. But other times really not much help. Especially after today. It was all just too much. Sometimes I try and help and talk with her and it’s just not logical what she says but it’s very real for her.
And then I get angry. Not at her, but at her father cause I’m left to do all of this on my own.
sorry for rambling

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry @Bow , had to feed everyone

It's amazing what they learn. Unfortunately she doesn't know how to share a bed. She takes up lots of room for a small dog!

It must be hard with your SIL. Unfortunately her actions are affecting your niece and nephew to have a relationship with their cousin and aunt. It can be very hard family dynamics.

It is hard with kids. It was mainly D who had the meltdowns. Sometimes I could calm her down and other times I just had to give her space. Knowing which would help was hard.

One thing that helped D was writing down how she felt. She struggled at times to get the words out. I promised her I would never read it unless she wanted me too and I kept that promise. Sometimes she would show me, other times not. She still keeps a diary even at her age.

Solo parenting is hard hon. All of it is put onto you.

Re: My Mosaic

It is 😊 her name is Nala. Oh I love Groot. Are you a Marvel fan? @Bow

That's not good, is that painful, or just uncomfortable?

That's good then, I hope all goes well tomorrow. I'm glad you're feeling better, it's going around. I'm trying to dodge being sick, but I'm sure it will eventually happen 😅

Re: My Mosaic

Nala from the lion king @Nala2022? I am not a marvel fan. I adopted groot as a foster fail. I fostered him as he needed a long term foster carer while he recovered from an illness. But when he was all better and ready to go up for adoption I could face him going. So kept him! Have fostered a bit since but told the coordinator that she’s not allowed to let me adopt anymore!

I’ve been sick for a couple of weeks. Tried to do one of them nasal washes and did it wrong and got water all up in my ear thing. Feeling much much better after some antibiotics but my ear still gives me grief.

hope you can keep dodging the winter bugs. At the beginning of my bug I was like yeah I’d be happy with a couple of days in bed guilt free…. 2 weeks later!

Re: My Mosaic

Yep that's right 😊 @Bow

Aw he's so lucky to have you. I'm glad he recovered and you got to keep him! It's so hard to let them go, so I'm glad you didn't have to. How many more do you have?

Damn, that's something I would do. is there anything that's helped to relief it? Ears can be so sensitive ☹️

Me too, the last time I was really sick was end of March and it was for almost 2 weeks as well. Brutal and on top had an agonising earache. I'm glad you're feeling better now though and start to feel more like yourself 🤗
