My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Yes and no @tyme ended up doing a Telehealth with my gp yesterday. Upper and lower respiratory infection she said. Started antibiotics. But my ear is still really giving me grief. Constantly blocked. Horrible pressure. And crackling when I blow my nose, eat and other random times. If it’s still like it tomorrow I’m gonna see if I can get in for a face to face appointment.

yes spirit of Tas. I haven’t been on it since we moved over in 2003. Hopefully it’s not too rough.

brother is soldiering on like a champ. He has a strong faith and is always positive. But his cancer is growing. It’s started causing him pain. And the palliative drs are involved now. He is trialing 5 days of radiotherapy next week. See if it helps.

there’s really not been many of you folk around at all. Guess we all just accept this is how it is now. Sucks though. My irl supports are very crappy at the moment.

Re: My Mosaic

Oh you poor thing re your infection. It's been ages @Bow ! I hope it clears soon.

I"m sorry to hear about your brother. That's tough. He's not that old, is he?

As for the Spirit of Tassie trip, it sounds great! I STILL haven't been on a cruise yet! Every time I'm venturing to go, then you hear about virus outbreaks!

When you book travel, do you go through an agency? I'm wanting to organise an overseas trip, but I don't know where to start. I can book flights, but then how to I find tours?

Re: My Mosaic

I hope it clears soon too cause I’m very over it @tyme it’s frustrating! I’ve missed 2 weeks of psychologist appointments. I still haven’t met my interim CM and now she is about to go on 2 weeks leave and I’ll get another interim CM. Urgh. Really not coping with it all.

My older brother is 18mths older than me.

D burst into tears when I told her we were taking the boat over to tassie. I had to quickly reassure her that the ‘boat’ is actually more a ‘cruise ship’. she thought boat= a very small vessel.

I usually book everything myself. Flights, accommodation, tours and tickets. There’s a couple of websites I use that offer discounts and stuff, ya just gotta make sure you read stuff. Did the UK, Paris and LA by myself. And I always join FB groups for where I’m going. So many helpful people there that have already done it themselves.

totally do a cruise. Just a short one to see how you go. 197 days until our next cruise!

where ya wanna go?

Morning @Snowie

hoping you can get down and managed just a coffee with your mum this morning.

my ear is still blocked so called my gp. Receptionist said I could have a Telehealth this morning, I explained what the issue is and if I could come in and see my gp so she can actually look at my ear and she said no. No face to face appointments available for a couple of weeks. How can my gp access my ear if she can’t see it??? And what’s the difference really, me sitting there next to her talking or me on the phone?? Urgh

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Bow

Doesn't make much sense to me either about your gp whether it's on the phone or in person.

Is there a bulk billing clinic near you? Or somewhere you can go see someone without an appt.?

They don't really need to know your history to giving you some meds to help you.

I guess telehealth is better than nothing though.

Made it to see mum and went to supermarket. H has been nagging me to make Veggie Soup so got all the ingredients for that. Will make it this afternoon.

Hey @Snowie

gp receptionist called me back and said that my gp wanted to see me in person so she could access my ear. So that was good. She checked me over, definitely have a chest infection and my ear is red and has fluid in it with bubbles! So she put me on stronger antibiotics.

back home on the couch now. My new ugg boots arrived while I was out. Badly needed a new pair.

veggies soup sounds nice! Your house will be smelling nice soon.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow so pleased to hear that the gp could see you in person and check out your ear.

Hopefully the stronger meds will kick in quickly and you can start to feel better.

Couch sounds nice

Just made the veggie soup. Now just have to let it cook for a few hours.

I don't think I told you that it is my grandma's recipe. She used to make it for us when we were little. You could always tell when she made it because you'd walk into her house and smell it straight away. My mum used to make it too. I like hand me down recipes!

Re: My Mosaic

Ear driving me insane tonight @Snowie I just wanna poke something in there and pop it. Let the pressure out.

I love a recipe that is passed down through the generations. My mum makes a cake that her mum taught her. It’s a family favorite. She’s gonna take the ingredients with us to tassie to make it.

Re: My Mosaic

Morning dear @Bow

I hope you got some sleep last night and your ear feels better this morning.

I have a few recipes passed down. I also have my Nan's cookbooks she used to use.

Hoping today goes ok for you 💕

Re: My Mosaic

Oh dear @Bow ! you got da bubbles in your ear! How does that even happen?? You must be in so much pain. When you 'blow' (like blow your nose), does that relieve the pressure?

I really hope you feel better soon! This sickness is lingering!

Another quiuck question. So do you book tours from here or do you wait until you get to the other side before booking?

The people I might go with want to go to Vietnam, Bali, Thailand, Japan... so not sure where yet. They haven't done anything about the trip so it looks like I have to. I just don't know where to start?

In the past, I booked a tour first, then booked flights around it... however, this was during COVID so I didn't even end up going.
