My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Hey @Snowie

@I think I slept average. Ear really bad today though. Like I really wanna poke something in there.
but won’t. Dropped D at her father’s this morning and then went to the shops. Walked around for ages trying to look for little dress up shoes for my niece. It’s her birthday on Monday and I got her this full Elsa dress up, but it really needed shoes. Eventually found some. But I was absolutely shattered by the time I got home. I’ve done nothing for the last 1.5 weeks.

one of the support workers stopped by. A male. I don’t mind talking to him. Just surface chat. But he wanted to check in on me. Didn’t really give me a choice.

spent the last couple of hours decorating a gift box for my niece.

How r u? been up to much?

Re: My Mosaic

Not good news about your ear @Bow

Can they somehow drain it if you have lots of fluid in it?

It takes time to recover hon, and you are still sick. Getting out at all is a big accomplishment.

I'm sure your niece will love her present.

My niece is 21 today. Trying to plan sometime next week to catch up with her and the family. With the kids working, uni and everything else going on, trying to find a night that suits everyone is hard.

Haven't done much today. Lets just say prn not helping.

Glad the SW wasn't a new one. At least you'd seen them before.

Re: My Mosaic

@tyme I was actually trying to do a saline nasal irrigation where ya flush saline up ya nostrils, but I obviously did something wrong and I felt it almost instantly. The pain isn’t too bad, just occasionally gets sore, it’s more the blocked feeling and the pressure. Feels like there is a balloon in there that needs popping. I do the whole pinch ya nose and blow, and that’s when I get all the cracking and popping. That hurts though. It’s very frustrating.

I usually book tours from home before we go. I actually really hate being locked into a schedule when we travel. What if things change and we aren’t available then. Sickness. Needing a rest day. What if you have something booked in the morning and you get held up and can’t make it to your afternoon booking. But I’ve had to learn to accept it and research times and travel distance etc. Cause a lot of things ya gotta book well in advance or you miss out.

first thing ya gotta do is lock in where. Can’t do much until ya do that. Time of the year ya wanna go? When is the best time to go to certain places. Like we were looking at Japan, but definitely want to do it in cherry blossom season. Also a tip with Japan- check ya medication. They are very strict with what ya can take in.

I haven’t done like a big tour before. As in a big package that includes activities, accommodation and all that. But day tours and stuff I have. But I think if we do go to Japan, we may do a bigger tour, just cause of the language barrier. But someone I know went and did it all themselves, did the occasional day tour group and they said it was fine. In saying that we did Paris fine.

Re: My Mosaic

I don’t know if they can drain the fluid somehow @Snowie im sure it will probably involve an ent visit and to get that done asap will be private and pricey. Urgh. It just doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

I really do hope my niece loves her Elsa box. Her mother will hate it. She does not want a girly girl. She dresses herself and her daughter in a lot of black and made it very clear early on, no unicorns and princesses. But my niece loves frozen so I’m going with it and if it annoys my sil in the process too bad. I even thought of adding glitter 😂

im sorry today has been hard 😞

im laying on the couch with a heat pack for my ear.

what you have for dinner?

Re: My Mosaic

I think the nasal irrigation trick was that you need to keep your mouth open @Bow I hope you didn't do any damage!

With travel, the thing is, if I don't lock myself into an itinerary, I end up just hanging around in the resort and doing nothing! I love resorts lol.

I reckon I will try Viet first. But I need to go when it's not humid, or I will get really cranky!!!

I'm going to have to find some tours.

Re: My Mosaic

Yep see I think that’s what happened @tyme didnt leave my mouth open! Water has gone into my eustachian tube.

oh you won’t get me on a holiday doing nothing! If I have it my way we are out early and all day exploring. Can chill and relax at home, I ain’t paying heaps to go to a foreign place to relax.

oh yeah, I actually really enjoy London and UK and Paris in the middle of winter.

ive used klook. Found them good and I found an influencer who had a discount code. So bonus!

Re: My Mosaic

Hahaha @Bow . Well you know for next time!

I don't use FB or anything, so it harder for me I guess. I wouldn't even know where to start looking. But I should start looking now.

And I sort of don't want to go through a travel agent if I can help it.

Re: My Mosaic

Oh goodness no, don’t go through a travel agent @tyme so much more expensive.
when we first started looking at our first trip to the uk I got a quote from flight center and it was a couple of thousand more.

Re: My Mosaic

Exactly! I want the liberty of not going through a travel agent and paying millions more @Bow . THanks for the confirmation
