My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow ,

It sounds like the changes to your supports have really shaken your sense of safety and stability, and I can hear how painful and overwhelming that has been for you. It makes sense that this wouldn't be something you could simply "just cope with" overnight.

Thank you for sharing so openly with the community. You deserve support and you aren't alone here. Also, junk journalling (is this scrapbooking?) and a couch day on Sunday sounds like a great idea♥️

Re: My Mosaic

I wish ECT was easier for you to access too @Bow

Both kids are coming tomorrow too so I'm sure they will be around but yes, will certainly be sticking to H. His Dad and step mum will be there too and I get on well with them.

No doubt it is extremely hard with all the changes hon. Have you tried to explain to someone that you want the support, yet it is really hard with them changing all your supports? I can see that it will take awhile before you can earn your new supports trust. I think you being hesitant and cautious is very normal. I think it is you probably trying to protect yourself.

That junk journalling sounds interesting hon. Hopefully you can enjoy it again this time.

I guess all you can do is see what happens with D.

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Honeymoon

hope I didn’t say anything wrong?

yeah no safety or stability at the moment. Doesn’t feel nice at all.

Yeah junk journaling could be like a smaller scrapbook. I like to use little golden books. Pull them apart, add additional pages and the story pages back and then sew the pages all in. This one I even figured out how to peel the golden spine off in one piece so I could reuse it.

Re: My Mosaic

No lovely @Bow , but I'm sorry to hear the struggle, and I'm sitting with you tonight.

That sounds really beautiful, also very resourceful and creative of you⭐

I love scrapbooking but I never thought to use old books for it...maybe I should!

Re: My Mosaic

Will your kids have cousins to hang out with at the big kids table @Snowie ?

I think my SW knows I want the support but she is away. It’s all hard and complicated.

Urgh I’m sorry. I don’t wanna get into trouble and don’t know if I’ve said too much now

Re: My Mosaic

They'll know some of them @Bow but not all. It is a very very big family.

I don't think you've said too much at all. There is nothing wrong with voicing your opinion and feelings hon.

Re: My Mosaic

Phew thank you @Honeymoon

i absolutely love secondhand bookshops for that reason. I head to the kids section and the classics, I’ve also used old music books and a couple of magazines.

this is my old one

Re: My Mosaic

It sounds really nice @Snowie but can totally appreciate the anxiety.

thanks hon.

did I tell you we have booked most of the stuff for our trip to tassie?

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry @Bow

It must have logged me out and then didn't get the tag's.

Those books look great. Never thought of doing one like that. Maybe I should try. I do have a journal I write in but never a 'positive' book.

I'm glad you've book most things for Tassie hon. I know you are going down there to see your brother and give support, but have you been able to manage to organise some 'fun' things down there too?

Re: My Mosaic

Same to you lovely @Snowie hope the socialising goes okay 😉 Hope you can carve out some time afterwards to recharge your batteries!

Aww @Bow this is too cute! I do love a good frolic 😋

Those scrap book/junk books look soooo cool! I feel like I have entirely too much junk around my place, something like that would be a good way to channel it! Alas, a large portion of it is way too 3D... feathers and stuff would fit, but not so much all the gemstones, bones, gumnuts, seashells, marbles, and figurines... 🤣

Hope you're both having a lovely Satdy 💜
