My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

We took the kids out of school for holidays too @Bow

I do think lived experience can teach them so much too. They can learn a lot.

When my Dad was nearing the end, we used to take them out too for them to spend time with him. Family comes first in a lot of situations.

Kids can be very fussy eaters, wanting a particular brand or type of food.

Must be hard at times to find things that everyone likes.

My father stooped to an all time low in my eyes today. My brother wanted to buy himself one of those ring watch things. He loves his tech and why not enjoy the rest of the time you have left. My father told him not to waste his money cause he needed to save it for his funeral

Re: My Mosaic

A lot of big sads tonight. Teary. My brother has his appointment with his oncologist tomorrow morning. We will find out how bad things are and I guess a plan moving forward. Mum will phone in so she can hear everything but I won’t be able to be there cause I have my psychologist appointment.
It’s hard watching mum. She is struggling a lot. And I feel absolutely terrible cause I really don’t have much to give.
my dad is a complete jerk after what he said today. Wish my brother was up here with us.
not looking for much just feeling pretty alone

Hey @Bow 💛

It sounds like things are pretty vulnerable right now and I can imagine tomorrow will be quite a lot for you all. I really hope you get the answers you're needing and that your brother has lots of support.

What do you think you might need to get through the next couple of days? Here with you. 🥰

Nicely in its box lol @tyme I have mine nicely on top of a little cupboard. I bought 4 castor wheels ages ago that I want to put on the cupboard. The amount of times I get up to load the mat and then sit back down only to have to get back up again to press go! Just need to find the wheels!

I look forward to seeing more of your projects @Bow . Your work is amazing

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Snowie

My brothers appointment went ok. He is going to continue with chemotherapy and they are looking at doing radiotherapy to help manage pain. Oncologist will refer him to the radiologist to review his case. Oncologist will see him in a month to see how things are going.
So we are going to look at going down in the July school holidays. Will leave a couple of days earlier to try and avoid school holiday fees.

My psychologist appointment was ok. Mostly talk about my brother and how it’s ok to struggle with all the feelings that come with my brother and his illness and dying and also to struggle with my own mental health. It’s ok to sit with both. It’s not being selfish. Talked a lot about giving myself permission to feel things, do things…. But putting boundaries and time limits on things. It’s ok to lay in bed and feel sad…. but then it’s time to get up and do something. So I think I found that helpful.
He very quickly pulled me up when I said my ‘failed hospital admission’ 😂 he said that will be worth visiting another time.

and my brother went ahead and ordered himself one of those ring watch things. I’d be like 🖕🏻 dad

how are you hon? How’s your day?

Hi @Bow

I'm glad your brothers appt. went ok, well I guess as good as bad news can be. Even though he is going to continue treatment I'm sure it is still hard for you and your mum to have this happen to him.

Super good news that you can all go in July to visit him. I'm sure he will be looking forward to it too.

Sounds like you were able to work through a few things with your psych. I'm glad you found it helpful hon. When do you see them next?

Glad your brother ordered his watch!

Been a rough few days but I'm ok. Nothing on today so spending it catching up on washing. Should clean the house but that can wait...
