My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow maybe if you mask too strongly it's not about her not remembering, but more about her thinking you've improved?

You've had admissions before, I can imagine lil D will get it - even if she doesn't like it, if she knows it's to help your MH hopefully she will be understanding.

Sensory overload definitely no fun! I hope you can get some reprieve, maybe just take 5 to go get some air or something?

Never made that!! I love me a butternut squash soup but this cauliflower n bacon got me intrigued!!

Re: My Mosaic

Ya so as much as I wanna do what I always do around mum, I need to not do it and try and just be me yeah @Jynx

D has never known that my admissions have been for mh reasons. And as much as I’d like to be some what honest with her about it…. She’d tell her father. Which I don’t want him knowing. None of his business. Most times she’s gone to bed and woken to me not being there. This time, unless I get up in the wee hours of the morning and leave, she’ll be up.

they all ended up going for a brief walk. Mum, D and dog. So I got a few quiet moments to myself.

cauliflower and bacon soup is so very delicious. We had it heaps when we went keto. Just cook up a heap of cauliflower, can use stock if ya want. Once it’s mushy, blend her up with some cream to a consistency you like and then stir in some diced bacon.

Re: My Mosaic

It might take some of the pressure off for sure @Bow and I can imagine always masking is quite exhausting, and you're probably exhausted enough already hey. Whatever feels safest for you in this moment 💜

Aye true, that's fair. Maybe when she's a little older hey?

Glad you got some respite hun. Hope you can get a solid night's sleep too. Especially now there's no kitties to attend to, hopefully your body can get a bit of rest before admission.

Oh wow yum!! I will have to give that a try sometime!! Would probably add potatoes too, love me a spud!! 😋

Re: My Mosaic

I don’t know how to bring up an admission with mum. She’s back. She’s making appointments.
sigh

feel like such a burden

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Jynx thanks for the tag. Getting an afternoon to myself now

Hi @Bow I know how hard it is to bring up the subject of hospital with anyone, especially those closest to us. Maybe you just need to sit your mum down and tell her that an admission is still on the cards. Give her date and for how long so she can work around it. She might remember that it is happening, but just struggling to bring up the topic with you.

It's even harder telling kids. Mine were a little older than your D the first time I went in, so I guess it was a different story they got. I do think it has to be age appropriate. I agree that it's none of your Ex's business so what you tell D can affect this.

Re: My Mosaic

I know it's a hard conversation @Bow

Maybe your CM can help

Can your SW stay with you whilst you talk to your mum?

I'm ok. Had hairdressers and physio this morning then went to supermarket. My god my hairdresser can talk!! Am peopled out but at least I got it all done today. This afternoon I've just been enjoying the peace and quiet.

Re: My Mosaic

I’m not sure when I’ll next see my SW @Snowie she was away Friday (today she had an RDO booked), but she did inform early last week that her sister had a pretty bad stroke. Thursday/Friday last week they were looking at reducing her sedation to see if she wakes up. My SW said she was planning to go down to Canberra to see her on Saturday, so I can only guess sadly that perhaps things didn’t go so well and that’s why she was away Friday. Will see what what happens tomorrow. If she is away tomorrow perhaps I can see if I can go into the office and chat with my old SW.

oh I’m not overly keen on hairdressers that talk… just let me sit and avoid having to stare at myself for an hour and you do my hair. Little bit of a boost for you though?

I did my groceries and got my meds.

Re: My Mosaic

Thats sad news about your SW @Bow Can understand the need to go see her sister.

Hopefully you can talk to your old SW and maybe she has some suggestions for you.

My normal hairdresser doesn't talk much but she is on maternity leave so seeing someone else. Did not shut up. I just sat and nodded! Least I got the greys covered and it was washed.

Grocery shopping was actually ok since I didn't have to take mum. In and out in less than 30 mins
