Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Oh family time is always nice yeah, you taking your partner @Jynx I’ll miss ya though!

I guess I’m just really wanting/needing support and help, but I find it so distressing when I go into these types of appointments and these randoms have done nothing to get to know me a little beforehand. I often then go into shutdown and it’s all just a waste of time. Like client files exist for a reason.

if my CM is gonna be off sick for an extended period of time are they gonna allocate me someone else?

Re: My Mosaic

No @tyme they all went back at the beginning of December and I think they all got adopted before Christmas.

yes I get all the fluffy tiny cuddles and get to socialise them a bit and then hand them back!

Re: My Mosaic

As long at you aren't tempted to keep them! That's the hard part!

Do you get cat fur everywhere because of the kitties? @Bow

Can't wait to see photos!

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow nah just me! So been maximising my time with them lately haha and my kitties!

Yeah totally get that. Is there a way for you to communicate how important it is that they familiarise themselves with your files/case notes or whatever beforehand? Maybe you could also focus on what you want to get out of the appt, so that even if they're not as prepared, you can still sorta steer the appt towards what you are needing it to be?

Re: My Mosaic

Haha @tyme it does get tempting to keep one, I had a favorite from the last litter, but I told the cat foster coordinator that I’m not allowed to adopt one and I’ve told mum the same. But ginger kitties are my favorite I got a soft spot for them.
but yeah…. Have decided that one permanent cat is enough for us. They cost money!

I actually don’t really. Mr Groot my cat doesn’t seem to shed much either. At least I don’t notice it. Years ago we had 2 big ginger cats, they were brothers and they shed a lot! I’ve probably shared this story before but I think it’s funny….. my younger brother went through a period of time where he would abscond alot and go missing for weeks. We had a visit from the police one day, probably just seeing if we had seen my bro and the officer sat on the armchair that the cats liked to sleep on. We giggled as the officers left and walked down our driveway…. Bum absolutely covered in cat furr! I use to always have a lint roller in my car cause I always wore black pants to work.

this  is the litter…. I’m taking 3 ginger ones @Jynx too

Re: My Mosaic

Oh yes lots of snuggles from everyone before you leave @Jynx

yeah I’m not sure…. Other than calling them up before hand? My SW has been able to free herself up to come with me thankfully.
It’s all feeling a bit overwhelming to be honest. Which I feel stupid about. Like just snap out of it, it’s just an appointment.

Re: My Mosaic

Ahahahah re the story about the police officer! That's so funny!

As for the kittens, they are gorgeous!

Question though.. just say the cat mother is feral, can you get the 'feral' out of the kittens? I've never owned a cat. @Bow

Re: My Mosaic

I’m pretty sure if they are rescued young enough @tyme then they can be socialized but it can take a bit of work and lots of patience. They call them spicy cats

Re: My Mosaic

omg LOOK AT THE WEE BABBIES!! @Bow haha little ginger gremlins, you'll have your hands full for sure!!

I think if you can call them up prior, it's not an unreasonable request to ask that they ensure that you don't have to go explaining or repeating your trauma. It's not uncommon for this to be something that can be re-traumatising so hopefully they'd be willing to take that on board.

Nothing stupid about feeling this way when you've had such a rough track record with these supports hun. It's not 'just an appt' it's being super vulnerable and opening yourself up for distress and disappointment. Your feelings make perfect sense 💜

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Jynx im definitely gonna keep that in mind. And I’m gonna talk with my SW about it too.

im not sure if it’s the anxiety I’ve already been feeling about tomorrow, but been hit with a hell of a lot more as I’ve crawled into just now. Bed is suppose to be my safe space. But it’s feeling a lot more distressing… nightmares that ain’t easing up, dang restless feet- if it doesn’t hit me I lay away wondering if it will. That ends with me thrashing about the place. Back pain on top of that and bed sucks.
