My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Hi @Bow , thinking of you. I hope you got to sleep quickly, as a way to end the intense feelings this evening. Sending care. You matter, we care.

Re: My Mosaic

@Snowie I would have loved that book sale and gladly tagged along with you! Not sure if I mentioned it, but I found a second hand bookstore in Hobart, knowing we were going to have the day there and we didn’t really have any plans. It was cute, so many old books, floor to ceiling, stacked on top of each other. I found a few Alice books. I have 183 now. I’ve also been collecting the little golden circle books, most just the old vintage Disney ones. Got a good stack of them now too.

I should take an updated photo of my book cabinet.

how are the fires down there? Still a lot burning. I’ve woken this morning to smoke. Was looking forward to opening the house up today now that it’s cooled down, but hate the smoke smell.

how are you?

Re: My Mosaic

Oohh, i like the sound of your book collection @Bow 😍.

Sorry you didnt sleep well, that is frustraiting. Hope you can take the day a bit easy on yourself and find some extra times for rest/naps/downtime to compensate?

Our sky is quite hazy today. I assumed it was just solid cloud, but it maked a lot more sense when my mum noted it was smoke. I have a poor sense of smell, but now i have been sitting in it for nearly 2 hours i can slightly smell the smpke too now. I am amazed how far the smoke has travelled! I am not anywhere near any fires - i am not in Vic or any bordering area to Vic!

I hope the fires stay a good distance from you. Scary the unpredicable threats of weather events.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow I thought you would have loved that book sale. I have discovered that they do the book sale every second month in various places. Luckily all the places are near us so I think D and I might be going back. She loves collecting old medical books. She has quite a few now.

Finding a second hand book shop is great. I can imagine you and I planning a day, just going second hand book shopping!

Wow that is a lot of Alice books hon. You will have to give us an updated photo.

Still lots burning down here that is out of control. Hoping the cooler weather and less wind makes it easier for them to fight. We are a lot safer here. Our local CFA keeps us up to date so just following their posts.

I don't like the smoke smell either. We haven't any around today so will catch up on some washing.

I read you didn't get much sleep again last night hon. I'm sorry you have to be going through this hon. Wish we could help in some way.

Re: My Mosaic

Instead of a pub crawl we’d do a second hand bookstore crawl @Snowie!! Lifeline do big book fairs up here and they do the, twice a year at each location. D and I go to them and the next one is in march I think, so am looking forward to that!

if I go anywhere new or out of area, I always do a search for bookshops or op shops. Love searching for treasures.

this is my cabinet today. I do have a stack in my room too…

@AlwaysMyself this is my Alice in wonderland book collection

yes I am glad for the cooler weather so the fire fighters can perhaps a bit of a break and easier conditions. It’s horrible. Fires and cyclones.

yeah bad sleep again, guess I just expect it at the moment. My SW is off her cruise today. She’s got tomorrow off and back Tuesday. Keen to see her.

you doing much today?.

Re: My Mosaic

I’ve done a bit of work this morning @AlwaysMyself things had been building up over the last few days during the heatwave, we really didn’t do much at all. But now it’s cooler we can get a few things done. We also have a house inspection coming up, it’s our second one in this house and they are pretty strict. We did fine last time, but I’m mum worries. So she is very pedantic about things and although I am really tired and lack energy, I gotta get up and help do stuff. I’m sitting down now though, just been watching a movie.

im in greater Sydney, so no major fires around that I am aware of, but must be some somewhere from the smoke. I remember the fires back in 2020/21 I think and we had burnt leaves and ash for weeks floating around and dropping around us.
