Checking In
Hi,
I'm not doing so well. Didn't have a good appointment with psychatrist today and because I am struggling, it is difficult for me to open up.

I'm in the Government Sector too @MDT .
Honestly, need to consider the benefits, esp at this time.
At least you have a job. That's something I know a lot of people are grateful for, because there are many without.
Also, glad you smashed out your assignment! Well done!
I think i've got about 5 to go then I'm done and dusted with this uni course - can't wait!
Take Care my friend,

Hi @HenryX
Thank you for your message - I truly appreciate it.
I enjoyed reading your message and thank you for sharing parts of your story with me. I'm trying to reflect back on my relationship with my friend, and I feel like there was a definite imbalance. But also that remark she made, as affected me, because I was very young when she said it. I don't recall a lot now of our relationship because I am struggling with my memory but I have know her for a good part of 26 years.
Our mindset is so important for our quality of life and the way that we think about everything. We can have a mindset either fixed or open (growth). Our early childhood plays a significant part in this and the way in which we received feedback and praise. But the impact of our mindset helps us navigate through life and the challenges we face. There at times when we are able to process events that have happen in our life more easily depending on how we feel and when we are coming from a place of openness, it seems to bring about growth, and move us forward in life
I can relate to your example of OCD element and I wonder where that comes from for you? I do know it causes me a great deal of anxiety (constantly cautious). Thats why I ask you does it stem from anything particular? Similarly to someone checking locks, catching germs etc. I have never thought of OCD in the way, that you have explained it. Its given me food for thought.
Your understanding of the fawn response makes perfect sense to me. I don't know a lot about it and only touched on it briefly last year. But the way you explained made sense to me, more so then what I learnt about it last year . To me it seems similar to one of the PTSD symptoms of being hypervigilant (constant alertness). It seems to me the OCD, fawn response overlaps with PTSD. For me I stay quiet when I feel unsafe and that is quite a lot of the time.
I also rode my bike to school in my later years in primary school and for one year in high school. Even as a young kid I would ride my bike to my Pops place and I loved doing that and seeing him. I'm glad you enjoy your cycling and hopefully getting back on the saddle soon.
I am glad you have your best friend in your dog. I recently lossed my little girl (staffy). She was very active and full of beans. But I do have another dog, and he is a French Bulldog and atm he is keeping me very busy because he had surgery about 11 to 12 days ago.
Sorry if my post is confusing in how I respond my attention span is not the best or my ability to recall things how I would like. But I think writing to you is actually helping me with this. So thank you for taking the time listen to me and to respond.
Best Wishes to you and hope tomorrow is a great day for you !!

Today I am resting, taking it easy today. After yesterday severre migraine and very high blood pressure episode.
I have just put on a bol sauce to make lasagna for dinner.
I am thinking that I need to go for a walk, it's a bit cold, but i really should put a jumper on and just go!!!
And i will knit this afternoon and maybe a little snooze
