Checking In

Checking In

Hi,

I'm not doing so well. Didn't have a good appointment with psychatrist today and because I am struggling, it is difficult for me to open up.

Re: Checking In

Well I hope you can relax in the afternoon @Shaz51

Hoping that eveything with your Mum goes well on Wednesday and that she isn't in too much pain.

Nothing happening with us. We are in isolation so not allowed to go anywhere. Kids are back to on line learning.

you're right sis @oceangirl just think about you and geting better mentally and physically. She's not woth it!!

ha ha here's me talking to you about horrible people (my mum) i should listen to my advice to you!!!

Why I ask about the dreams/nightmares and sleep is that my psych and GP have suggested I try a natural herb melatonin to help with sleep. And there is a presciption med to help with unwanted negative horrible dreams and nightmares. i was on it for a while years ago and it did help. but you need a script for that one.

i feel once you have your sleep pattern better and under control it helps with the depression. Do you do any exercises eg. walk. (sorry can't remember). i have just recently found that if i walk daily around the block (30 mins) it helps me focus better and just to breathe in some fresh air is good.

I am happy to chat to you anytime, and glad you feel good about sharing on here. We are all here for you beautiful friend xxxooo

@BlueBay Hi my sister You're such a caring and beautiful friend. I do feel comfortable sharing here and talking to you. Yes its best just to ignore and or limit my contact with her especially when I am struggling. I am sorry to hear about your mum- its her loss. You're amazing!!

I do take melatonin but have not been taking it regularly. Because my specialist said it does not work unless you're sleepy. But I am not sure about that because even if it doesn't help with my sleep, I find that it does help with how I feel and reduces my daytime sleepiness.

Prior to the last few months I have been doing regular exercise. However in the last month or two that has dropped off and especially in the last month. I did go to the gym yesterday. I am trying to do a walk everyday and go to the gym most days- either do a gym workout or go for a swim.

Apparently getting more sunshine especially in the morning is really good for your sleep and it resets your natural sleep cycle. I am going to keep trying to do the things that might help with my sleep. Another thing that interferences with sleep: is having anxiety issues and up until about four years ago, I never thought of the impact of anxiety and sleep.

Thank you for your support and friendship, it means a lot to me. It does help to have a place to talk were you're accepted and supported- it does make a difference. And especially were people feel connected and have a sense of belonging. You're doing great my sister and I am here you anytime and always. I hope you feel better beautiful. xxooxx

I agree with all you said there @oceangirl

I especially think that opening up has risks associated with it. This is why it's important to open to the right people. We have to be wise in that instance and make informed choices over what we tell people and at what time and how much of the story we tell them

Atm I am just working on what I have planned out for the week

It's increasingly likely that I won't be continuing on with my internship in any other capacity. I have seen that they are planing to bring on 2 new people in the next couple of weeks. I am guessing this means my time has an expiry date.

So I will post about that elsewhere on my own thread.

I was glad to have stayed up last night to watch the final stage of the tour de france. It's something of a past time for me I think
Plus following along on twitter was a bit of a social atmosphere for me during lockdown which I have found super hard.

Had heater on before - my study is cold in winter and hot in summer. the best time to work is during autumn and spring lol

I hope your day of activities is prosporous my friend

You're absolutely right Hams @MDT re opening up to others. Its best to get to know the people first and see how they are with others too. Because even though they might be friends with you now you don't know what is going to happen in the future. But if you're friends with someone and they talk about others it is not a good sign (Its not polite).I don't understand why they do it- what are your thoughts? Other then to gossip and to make themselves feel better but at the expense of the person they're talking about. Its best to get to know people slowly and to follow your instinct.

Glad you're planning out your week and getting time to watch your cycling (tour de france). How is uni going? Get organized early and try not to leave things to the last minute. Good luck this semester. Its best to try to keep a routine during lockdown even if its just a few activties each day and try to keep up the exercise. I need to do more of that too. I am realy finding it helpful to come here and open up more because I feel supported and have built relationships and connections.

I did go to the gym yesterday and that has helped. Tomorrow I have a few things planned and Thursday going to get my hair done. Talk to you soon !!
