Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Sorry it’s like this for you @BlueBay I feel a bit guilty that I haven’t worked hard enough on a public holiday but I’ve completed all the tasks given to me and there have been no incidents.

I’d love to drive around Australia but my h died so that’s not going to happen for me now either.

Just because life sucks now it doesn’t mean it will always be that way. My life was all but over last year but now I sometimes see glimmers of hope and I want to hope you can see that soon too.

Big hugs

Re: Need to vent

Hey @BlueBay ,

Firstly, your physical pain doesn't help in the mix.

Secondly, I'd like to remind you of the many blessings you DO have. Should you really be focusing on what you don't have? I don't think that is healthy for your mind, and this ends up in your gut. Medical research call your gut the second brain. When you are mentally not well, it affects your gut and vice versa.

As far as I'm concerned, the only time it is helpful to see what others have is if you are ready to make a change in your own life to work towards new goals - this is easier said than done. When I say 'goals', I mean realistic goals. There's no point wishing you become a billionaire over night.

So let's just count some of what you DO have which others may also want from you:

- you've got family around you - I don't

- you've got a job (at least some income) - many don't have this.

- you live in an awesome area close to the beach - I wish I had that. At the moment, I have to prepare a whole day just to make a trip to the beach!

- you've got Little A to love and treasure

- you are well versed in the English language and you are literate - do you know how many people I've come across who can't get a job or have support like this because they are illiterate?!?!? They cannot even read a utilities bill!

Count your blessings, my dear @BlueBay , and if I were you, I'd stop looking at people's social media posts.

But this is all my opinion. Ultimately, it's your choice what you think you'd like to do to help you at this time.

Hint* Wink* I think a cuppa with your pals here is a grand idea! @Eve7 @Shaz51 @MDT

Take Care,

Re: Need to vent

Hi everyone @BPDSurvivor @Shaz51 @Eve7 @MDT @Emelia8 and others reading

I called into work and resigned due to my health. My supervisor suggested I don't resign but she said whenever i am feeling better and want to go back she will give me shifts. At least in the back of my head I can go back - but - I won't not for now. I am taking a few weeks off to rest, recover and just chill a bit. I know there won't be an income but I will still get some money from Centrelink. And do you know what - I actually feel okay about it. Not sure what hubby

OMG my mum - I just called her because my D wants to bring her new partner to meet them; as he has with his family. I said to mum if they are free this saturday can my D go over or they come to my house for lunch. Whatever was easier for them. Here comes the f....g story - "Oh no, you see dad is not well (rubbish!!!) and he doesn't want to mix with a lot of people because of the COVID!!! WTF. she then says oh and also he goes to the toilet a lot becasue of his meds so he will feel uncomfortable to come here to me!!!!

I replied - fine, well she will take her partner to my sister. I wanted her to know that we tried to go to her first, so if she cracks it knowing we are going to my sister before her - well she declined my offer.

So then she says - oh no it won't be for quite a few weeks, i will let you know when we are ready to come over.

Why do they have to be 'ready' to go to their own daughter's house? Who are we strangers that have been exposed to COVID hence they can't come over. WTF!!!

I am so bloddy angry, i hate that she does this to me ALL the time. No get together for me for Easter; no but the other siblings all had lunch together with my parents.

I must be some alien to not want me there.

I said to my D - that's it; lets go to my sisters and not worry about my mum. And why should it be that 'when they're ready' they have nothing to do; they don't go anywhere.

I tried to call in on Saturday for Easter - her excuse 'oh we won't be home'

I try so damn hard but obviously she doesn't want a bar of me.

It hurts but i can't do anymore than what i am doing. it really hurts 😞 😞

ps. she just called me and this is what she said "I spoke to dad and he said we'll see him after they have lived together for a while' there's no need to meet him now" this is her talking NOT my dad. I know my dad and he would never say something so stupid like that.

now i am crying.

Re: Need to vent

I really feel for you @BlueBay 😔

And I can understand your reaction to the complete nonsense that your mother feeds you. 😳🌹

On a better note, well done for resigning your job. I'm sure it is a good decision for you right now. So it pleases me that you feel okay about it. Perhaps it even gave you a certain satisfaction in telling them that you were leaving? It would me I think, given how poorly you have been treated at times. Hope you hear something from the chemist soon, about the other job. Though not too soon, because I feel you need some time out first, before commencing any new job. Time to heal now.

Missing you @Owlunar 🌷
